Vox Royalty to Buy Sorby Hills Royalty for $13 Million
The precious-metals royalty company is adding an uncapped 0.75% NSR over a construction-stage Western Australian silver-lead mine Boab Metals targets for first concentrate in late 2027.
Vox Royalty Corp. (VOXR) agreed to acquire an uncapped 0.75% net smelter return royalty on the Sorby Hills silver-lead project in Western Australia for $13,000,000 in an asset-purchase deal expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The precious-metals royalty company said the interest is meant to add near-term, silver-dominant revenue from a mine that is already permitted, funded and under construction, rather than from an exploration-stage asset still years from a decision on mine life.
Boab Metals, the project owner, is targeting first concentrate production in the second half of 2027 and average annual output of about 2.2 million ounces of silver and 68 kilotonnes of lead over an initial 8.5-year mine life.
Chief Executive Officer Kyle Floyd said the timing is the point of the purchase: “Acquiring a construction-stage royalty within 12 months of first production is precisely the profile we target at Vox: near-term, precious-metals revenue, with significant optionality.”
Floyd also said Vox is “excited to add near-term silver-dominant revenue to the Vox portfolio through an uncapped royalty over Sorby Hills, which is on track to become one of Australia’s largest silver mines.” He added that the company looks forward to the results of a 2026 reserve-extension drilling program and its potential mine-life implications.
The royalty is uncapped, so Vox’s take is not limited to a fixed ounce or dollar ceiling, and it sits on a project that is fully permitted and fully funded. That combination is what Floyd framed as the near-term-revenue-plus-optionality mix Vox is trying to buy: cash flow from a mine that should be producing within about a year of close, with the reserve-extension drill results as a later lever on how long that cash flow lasts.
The $13,000,000 asset purchase is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026, ahead of Boab Metals’ targeted first concentrate in the second half of 2027.
