Samsung Fire & Marine reports 1.25 trillion won net profit
The insurer recognized 9.43 trillion won in insurance revenue for the first half of 2026.
The non-life insurer, Samsung Fire & Marine, recorded a net profit of 1.25 trillion won for the first half of 2026. During this period, the company recognized insurance revenue of 9.43 trillion won.
Insurance revenue rose 4.39% year-on-year, while insurance service expenses decreased 0.05% over the same period. Performance varied by segment, with long-term insurance revenue reaching 5.26 trillion won, an increase of 5.99% year-on-year. General insurance revenue grew 9.51% year-on-year to 1.43 trillion won, while its service expenses fell 21.64%. Conversely, automobile insurance revenue declined 0.90% year-on-year to 2.74 trillion won, and its service expenses dropped 0.43%.
Long-term insurance represents the largest portion of the company's insurance revenue at 55.7%, followed by automobile insurance at 29.1% and general insurance at 15.2%.
Other business operations generated 292.3 billion won in operating revenue for the first half of 2026. This included 134.6 billion won from loss adjustment services, which rose 1.0% year-on-year. Revenue from customer consultation services reached 51.3 billion won, an 8.7% year-on-year increase. Sales from the insurance agency business grew 18.5% year-on-year to 74.2 billion won, while emergency dispatch service revenue rose 3.1% year-on-year to 3.3 billion won.
