Krafton reports 973 billion won operating profit

The game developer recorded consolidated revenue of 2.66 trillion won for the first half of 2026.

The game developer Krafton recorded consolidated revenue of 2.66 trillion won and operating profit of 973 billion won for the first half of 2026. The company reported that its primary intellectual property, PUBG, maintained stable service and growth through global collaborations and content updates. Additionally, Subnautica 2 sold over 5 million copies shortly after its early access launch in May 2026.

Revenue distribution shifted toward the advertising sector, which contributed 531 billion won, or 19.9% of total revenue, in the first half of 2026. This represents an increase from the 323 billion won, or 9.7%, reported for the full year of 2025. The gaming division generated 2.13 trillion won in revenue during the same period. Within the gaming segment, mobile titles provided 1.15 trillion won, while PC games contributed 924 billion won.

Geographic performance for the gaming division showed a concentration in Asia, which generated 1.65 trillion won in the first half of 2026. The Americas and Europe contributed 304 billion won, and South Korea provided 161 billion won. The advertising division also saw significant activity in Asia, recording 507 billion won in revenue.

Operating profit for the gaming division reached 934 billion won, accounting for 96.1% of the total operating profit. The advertising division contributed 38.3 billion won in operating profit.

Krafton is pursuing a strategy to secure big franchise intellectual properties, which includes a plan to increase new game development costs to approximately 300 billion won per year over five years starting from 2025. The company said it intends to scale up titles such as inZOI, Last Epoch, and Mimesis. It also plans to integrate AI technology across game production and services to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
