TechTarget Cuts 2026 Adjusted EBITDA Outlook

Third-quarter revenue was $119.2 million, 2.5% below a year earlier, as the company now sees full-year sales modestly lower and Adjusted EBITDA of $80 million to $85 million.

TechTarget, Inc. (TTGT), a B2B intelligence, media and marketing company, reported third-quarter revenue of $119.2 million, 2.5% below the year-earlier period, and cut its full-year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA outlook to $80 million to $85 million after previously targeting growth in both revenue and Adjusted EBITDA.

The sequential recovery was the quarter’s operating turn. Revenue rose 2.6% from $116.1 million in the second quarter, after a 3.2% year-over-year decline in that period. The company said the year-over-year decline in the third quarter was milder than the second-quarter drop.

Brand to Demand, the larger reportable segment, generated $87.8 million, down 2.5% from a year earlier. The company attributed the decline primarily to lower Intent Data revenue and the timing of customer campaign activity, particularly in international markets. Intelligence & Advisory revenue was $31.5 million, down 2.4%, with growth in subscription revenues offset by lower advisory revenues.

Net loss narrowed to $18.2 million, or a 15.2% net loss margin, from $76.8 million, or a 62.8% margin, in the third quarter of 2025. For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, net loss was $110.7 million, or a 32.4% margin, compared with $998.8 million, or a 288.6% margin, a year earlier. The company said the nine-month improvement primarily reflected substantially lower non-cash goodwill impairment charges and the absence of restructuring expenses in the third quarter of 2026.

Adjusted EBITDA was $18.6 million, down 17.9% from $22.6 million a year earlier, with Adjusted EBITDA margin at 15.6% versus 18.5%. The company said the year-over-year change predominantly reflected lower revenues and cost inflation, partly offset by structural cost savings and synergies. Sequentially, Adjusted EBITDA rose from $15.1 million in the second quarter, and the margin expanded to 15.6% from 13.0%.

Chief Executive Officer Gary Nugent said the company is operating with discipline in a market shaped by macro volatility and AI investment, and that it is strengthening its product offering and sharpening go-to-market strategy. He said the company remains confident in its strategy and the opportunity from trusted brands, market expertise, proprietary data and AI.

The company said it launched Buyer Intelligence, combining proprietary first-party intent data, audience intelligence and AI-powered insights, and an MCP integration framework that activates that intent and audience intelligence inside customers’ AI workflows. It also completed a brand refresh and re-platforming of TechTarget.com’s editorial and audience development strategy.

Cash and cash equivalents were $35.3 million at September 30, 2026. The company had $120.1 million drawn under its $250 million unsecured five-year revolving credit facility, leaving $129.9 million available and net debt of $84.8 million, about 1x trailing 12-month Adjusted EBITDA.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects a strong seasonal sequential improvement in revenues and profitability, supported by its annual live events schedule across EMEA, the Americas and APAC. For the full year, it said ongoing macro volatility and customers’ continuing prioritization of AI development over marketing investment mean it now expects full-year 2026 revenues to be modestly lower than the prior year, translating to the updated Adjusted EBITDA range of $80 million to $85 million.
