Micro-Cap Earnings Roundup for Week of Oct. 26, 2026
PCB Bancorp’s third-quarter 2026 earnings rose, TriMas returned to operating profit and Beta Bionics reported higher sales alongside a wider net loss.
Revenue growth and bottom-line improvement took different paths in this week’s selected earnings reports. Beta Bionics’ third-quarter 2026 sales increased 30% year over year, but its net loss widened. TriMas paired a smaller sales increase with a move from operating loss to operating profit.
PCB and Capitol Federal report wider interest margins
PCB Bancorp’s third-quarter net income available to common shareholders increased to $12.1 million from $11.3 million a year earlier. Net interest income rose to $28.8 million from $27.0 million, and net interest margin increased to 3.35% from 3.28%. The quarter also included a $705,000 reversal of credit-loss provisions, compared with a $381,000 reversal a year earlier.
Capitol Federal Financial reported preliminary fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $22.4 million for the period ended September 30. Net interest income reached $54.8 million and net interest margin was 2.39%. Capitol Federal attributed increases in both measures primarily to growth in higher-yielding commercial loans. That portfolio totaled $2.58 billion, versus $2.12 billion a year earlier; fiscal 2026 net income increased to $86.4 million from $68.0 million.
Norwood Financial’s third-quarter net income rose to $11.8 million from $8.3 million a year earlier. Norwood said its Presence Bank acquisition contributed to performance, while CEO Jim Donnelly attributed margin expansion to balance-sheet management and a one-time benefit from a borrower bankruptcy resolution. California BanCorp provided an exception to the earnings gains: third-quarter net income declined to $14.0 million from $15.7 million, even as its management described steady loan growth and strong deposit growth.
TriMas sales rise; Clearwater Paper sales fall
TriMas’ third-quarter net sales increased 7.7% year over year to $178.7 million. Operating profit was $11.5 million, compared with a $3.2 million operating loss; adjusted operating profit rose to $13.6 million from $9.2 million. TriMas attributed sales growth to organic growth in Packaging and Specialty Products and favorable currency translation, and attributed the adjusted profit improvement to cost reductions and organizational streamlining.
Forum Energy Technologies reported third-quarter revenue of $237 million, up 5% sequentially, with net income of $11 million and adjusted net income of $18 million. Adjusted EBITDA reached $36 million, up 14% sequentially. CEO Neal Lux attributed performance to broad-based growth, market-share gains and execution. Forum raised its full-year 2026 guidance to revenue of $900 million–$920 million and adjusted EBITDA of $123 million–$129 million.
Clearwater Paper’s third-quarter net sales fell to $385 million from $399 million a year earlier, a decline the company attributed primarily to lower market pricing. Adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations nevertheless increased to $24 million from $18 million; Clearwater attributed that improvement primarily to the timing of planned major maintenance at Lewiston, Idaho, partly offset by lower pricing. Its net loss narrowed to $2 million from $53 million, with Clearwater identifying a noncash goodwill impairment as the principal cause of the prior-year loss.
Strattec Security reported a different outcome for its fiscal first quarter ended September 27, 2026: net sales declined to $147.2 million from $152.4 million a year earlier, and net income attributable to Strattec fell to $4.8 million from $8.5 million. Adjusted EBITDA margin declined to 9.2% from 10.2%. CEO Jennifer Slater said actions taken in Mexico were expected to generate $1.3 million in annualized savings.
Beta Bionics grows sales while losses widen
Beta Bionics’ third-quarter net sales reached $35.5 million, versus $27.3 million a year earlier. Pharmacy Benefit Plan channel sales increased 118% to $13.6 million, while Durable Medical Equipment channel sales grew 4% to $21.9 million. Gross margin rose to 57.3% from 55.5%, but operating loss widened to $26.6 million from $17.0 million and net loss widened to $24.4 million from $14.2 million.
ClearPoint Neuro reported third-quarter revenue of $12.1 million, up 36%, including the recently acquired IRRAflow portfolio. Neurosurgery navigation and therapy revenue increased 59% to $5.4 million, while biologics and drug-delivery revenue increased 11% year over year to $4.9 million.
PTC Therapeutics reported third-quarter total revenue of $358 million, including $276 million of product revenue and $182 million from Sephience. CEO Matthew Klein said the Sephience launch led record product revenue. PTC raised its full-year 2026 total-revenue guidance to $1.29 billion–$1.32 billion and product-revenue guidance to $960 million–$990 million.
Community Health Systems’ third-quarter same-store admissions increased 2.2% year over year, but its net loss attributable to stockholders was $86 million, compared with net income of $130 million. Operating cash flow increased to $155 million from $70 million. CEO Kevin Hammons said payor mix and acuity did not develop as expected, despite sequential improvements in volume trends and cash flow.
