ClearPoint Neuro Cuts 2026 Revenue Outlook After Third-Quarter Growth
Third-quarter revenue reached $12.1 million, up 36% year over year, as the company lowered its 2026 estimate to $48.0 million–$50.0 million.
ClearPoint Neuro, Inc. (CLPT), a device, cell, and gene therapy-enabling company, reported third-quarter revenue of $12.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, up 36% from $8.9 million a year earlier, including the recently acquired IRRAflow portfolio.
The year-over-year growth rate accelerated from 18% in the second quarter, after 43% in the first quarter. President and CEO Joe Burnett said the acceleration was driven by core organic clinical product revenue and by biologics and drug delivery returning to double-digit growth.
Neurosurgery navigation and therapy, which includes navigation, laser, drill and IRRAflow products, increased 59% to $5.4 million from $3.4 million a year earlier. The company said the increase was driven primarily by IRRAflow product sales after its acquisition of IRRAS in the fourth quarter of 2025. Capital equipment and software revenue rose 68% to a record $1.7 million, primarily from placements of ClearPoint navigation capital and software, IRRAflow control units, and Prism laser units.
Biologics and drug delivery revenue increased 11% to $4.9 million from $4.4 million a year earlier, primarily from higher services at ClearPoint Advanced Laboratories. That segment had declined 15% in the second quarter. In August the company said the CAL facility was in its possession and that new services revenue was expected to return the segment to growth in the third quarter.
Gross margin was 58%, down from 63% in the year-ago quarter. The company attributed the decrease primarily to overhead at the new CAL facility and additional amortization of acquired intangible assets, partially offset by a decrease in other cost of revenue. Operating expenses were $13.4 million, up 23% from $10.9 million a year earlier, mainly from the November 2025 IRRAS acquisition, higher personnel costs from expanded clinical and sales teams, and increased occupancy and travel costs. The 36% revenue growth outpaced that 23% operating-expense increase, the company said, as completion of the IRRAflow product integration enabled improved operating leverage.
The company now estimates 2026 revenue of $48.0 million to $50.0 million, down from the prior outlook of $52.0 million to $56.0 million issued with first-quarter results.
Cash and cash equivalents were $46.2 million as of September 30, 2026, compared with $45.9 million at December 31, 2025. The increase resulted from $22.0 million of net proceeds from the at-the-market equity offering program, partially offset by $20.1 million of cash used in operating activities. Burnett said the cash balance provides additional confidence to fund a pipeline that includes AI-derived planning and simulation, neuro navigation in the MRI and operating room, laser therapy and access, IRRAflow CSF management, robotic surgery, focused ultrasound, and the drug delivery ecosystem.
A partner submitted the first formal BLA for treatment of Huntington’s disease. ClearPoint also became an industry partner in a five-year, $2.98 million NCI R01 led by Dartmouth Health to advance MR-guided laser therapy for spinal metastases using the Prism system, which the company described as early-stage research supporting its spine LITT roadmap.
