Interparfums Third-Quarter Sales Hold at $430 Million

European-based net sales rose 4% to $306 million, reversing a second-quarter decline, while U.S.-based sales fell 7% to $127 million.

Interparfums, Inc. (IPAR) reported third-quarter net sales of $430 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, matching the year-ago period after a 2% increase to $341 million in the second quarter.

The global fragrance licensor said the hold in consolidated sales reflected especially strong European-based operations that offset weaker United States-based results after an exceptional second quarter. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jean Madar said the ongoing war in the Middle East represented a 1% headwind in the third quarter, down from a 3% headwind in the second quarter.

European-based net sales rose 4% to $306 million, reversing a 4% decline to $231 million in the second quarter. The company said the increase reflected 3% organic growth and a 1% contribution from new brands, partially offset by a 1% foreign-exchange headwind. The average dollar/euro rate was 1.15 in the third quarter versus 1.17 a year earlier, producing a 0.4% foreign-exchange loss.

Coach fragrance sales rose 23% in the third quarter after an 8% decline in the second quarter. Madar said the brand continued to benefit from popularity in the United States, established women’s and men’s lines, and two new line extensions launched earlier in the year. Montblanc fragrance sales increased 12% after flat second-quarter sales, which the company attributed to Montblanc Legend Elixir and Montblanc Explorer Infinite. Jimmy Choo fragrance sales rose 1% in the third quarter.

Lacoste fragrance sales returned to growth, rising 4% in the third quarter after a 16% first-half decline. The company said the improvement was driven by Original Intense and followed a challenging first half that included a strong prior-year comparison and softer conditions in Eastern Europe.

United States-based net sales fell 7% to $127 million after rising 18% to $113 million in the second quarter. Madar said the decrease was driven largely by supply-chain disruptions that delayed giftset shipments for select brands, representing about $10 million in sales that would be recognized in the fourth quarter. Excluding that impact, the company said U.S. sales would have been flat.

GUESS, the largest United States-based brand, posted fragrance sales up 3% in the third quarter. The company said growth was driven by the Iconic franchise and extensions for Amore and Seductive. Donna Karan/DKNY fragrance sales declined 9% following double-digit growth in the second quarter, which the company attributed to innovation phasing and giftset shipment delays. Ferragamo fragrance sales declined 22% due to innovation phasing and challenging market conditions in Europe. Roberto Cavalli fragrance sales increased 4%, which the company said occurred despite a difficult macroeconomic environment in the Middle East and high prior-year comparisons.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, total net sales were $1,115 million, up 1% from $1,102 million a year earlier. European-based net sales were $789 million and United States-based net sales were $336 million. The company said the Middle East war represented a 2% headwind for the first nine months.

Madar said the company is investing in expanded partnerships and new exclusive license agreements, preparing for the 2026 holiday season, and looking to a series of blockbuster launches and new brand additions in 2027. He said Interparfums maintains a measured but positive outlook for the balance of the year, 2027 and beyond. Full financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026, are scheduled for November 4, 2026, with a conference call on November 5.
