Interparfums Extends Cavalli Fragrance License Through 2046

The fragrance licensee locked in worldwide rights to Roberto Cavalli and Just Cavalli for another two decades after three years of managing the brands.

Interparfums, Inc. (IPAR) extended its exclusive worldwide license with Marquee Brands for Roberto Cavalli and Just Cavalli fragrances through December 31, 2046, covering the continued creation, development and distribution of the scents globally.

The prestige fragrance maker said the extension keeps Cavalli in its portfolio for another two decades after it took over the license three years earlier.

Jean Madar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Interparfums, said, “This extension reflects the strength of Roberto Cavalli, the partnership with Marquee Brands and our shared conviction in what lies ahead. In the three years managing the license, we have re-established Cavalli as a distinctive voice in prestige fragrance, pairing bold Italian design with the sensuality and craftsmanship the brand has always represented.”

Roberto Cavalli already sits in Interparfums’ roster of licensed prestige names, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Coach, Donna Karan/DKNY, Ferragamo, GUESS, Karl Lagerfeld, Lacoste, Moncler and Van Cleef & Arpels, with products distributed in more than 120 countries. The Cavalli extension runs to the same year as the company’s other long-dated brand agreements: Interparfums will continue to assume full global responsibility for GUESS fragrances until December 31, 2048.

The Cavalli term is shorter than the GUESS run, but it still locks the Italian fashion house into Interparfums’ global fragrance network for the rest of the decade and beyond. The deal continues a partnership that has included three years of work to reposition the brand in prestige fragrance.

Interparfums operates in two segments, European-based operations through its 72%-owned subsidiary Interparfums SA and United States-based operations through wholly owned subsidiaries in the United States and Italy. The Cavalli license remains one of those brand agreements that the company distributes through its existing worldwide network rather than a newly built channel.
