Aurinia Raises 2026 Revenue Outlook After Sales Slow
The company lifted 2026 total revenue guidance to $325 million to $330 million after third-quarter revenue of $83.7 million.
Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AUPH) raised its 2026 total revenue outlook to a range of $325 million to $330 million after third-quarter sales growth cooled from the pace of the first half of the year.
The biopharmaceutical company, which markets LUPKYNIS as the first FDA-approved oral therapy for adult patients with active lupus nephritis, had reiterated the prior $315 million to $325 million total revenue range in both May and August. It also narrowed 2026 net product sales guidance from $305 million to $315 million to $310 million to $315 million.
For the three months ended September 30, 2026, total revenue was $83.7 million, up 14% from $73.5 million a year earlier. That compared with 19% year-over-year growth in the June quarter and 24% growth in the March quarter.
LUPKYNIS net product sales were $79.4 million, up 12% from $70.6 million a year earlier, after 19% growth in the June quarter and 23% growth in the March quarter. License, collaboration and royalty revenue was $4.3 million.
Net income was $31.7 million, essentially unchanged from $31.6 million a year earlier, and diluted earnings were $0.23 a share. Net income before taxes was $38.7 million. Income tax expense was $7.0 million.
Research and development expense was $16.6 million in the quarter. Selling, general and administrative expense was $24.7 million. Cost of revenue was $8.3 million. Other income, net, was $1.3 million.
Cash flows from operating activities were $46.4 million. Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and investments were $486.9 million at September 30, 2026, compared with $443.1 million at June 30.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, total revenue was $244.6 million, up 19% from $205.9 million. LUPKYNIS net product sales were $232.4 million. License, collaboration and royalty revenue was $12.2 million. Net income was $103.5 million, and diluted earnings were $0.76 a share. Cash flows from operating activities were $131.5 million.
Financing outflows for the nine months were $53.2 million, including the repurchase of 5.0 million common shares for $74.9 million, partly offset by $35.9 million of proceeds from equity-award issuances net of tax withholding.
Aurinia said it had initiated PRESERVE, a Phase 4 multicenter study of LUPKYNIS combined with belimumab, obinutuzumab or anifrolumab in lupus nephritis, with planned enrollment of about 150 patients across about 50 U.S. sites and a primary endpoint of complete renal response at six months. The company also said it had initiated clinical development of aritinercept, a dual BAFF/APRIL inhibitor, in four potential autoimmune indications.
The company said it is increasing 2026 total revenue guidance from $315 million to $325 million to $325 million to $330 million and narrowing net product sales guidance to $310 million to $315 million.
