Amphenol Corporation (APH), a designer and manufacturer of electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, reported third-quarter 2026 sales of $10.2 billion, up 65% in U.S. dollars and 37% organically from the third quarter of 2025, exceeding the high end of its $9.3 billion to $9.4 billion outlook that had implied a 50% to 52% increase.

Organic growth accelerated from 30% in the second quarter, when U.S.-dollar sales rose 55%. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer R. Adam Norwitt said sales increased from the prior year by 65%, driven by strong organic growth in most end markets, including continued exceptional organic growth in the IT datacom market, as well as contributions from the company’s acquisition program.

Orders were $12.2 billion, producing a book-to-bill of 1.19:1, down from 1.23:1 in the second quarter.

GAAP diluted earnings were $0.79 a share, up 61% from a year earlier. Adjusted diluted EPS was $0.80, up 74%, also above the high end of the split-adjusted outlook of $0.70 to $0.71 ($1.40 to $1.42 before the 2-for-1 stock split). GAAP operating margin held at 29.5%; adjusted operating margin was 29.7%, versus 29.8% in the second quarter, which included an $80 million net IEEPA tariff recovery.

Communications Solutions net sales were $6,583.0 million. Harsh Environment Solutions contributed $2,042.1 million and Interconnect and Sensor Systems $1,604.6 million.

Operating cash flow was $2.1 billion and free cash flow $1.6 billion, up from $1.6 billion and $1.2 billion in the second quarter. The company purchased 3.0 million shares for $245 million and paid dividends of $308 million, returning $553 million to shareholders in the quarter.

Amphenol closed the Empire Electronics acquisition in early September. The Michigan-based manufacturer of complex interconnect assemblies for the automotive market, with a focus on lighting-related products, is expected to generate about $320 million of full-year 2026 sales and sits in Interconnect and Sensor Systems. The company also signed definitive agreements to buy AdvancedPCB, Dexgreen Limited and Humanetics Sensors. AdvancedPCB, a U.S. maker of high-technology printed circuit boards for defense and industrial markets, is expected at about $270 million of 2026 sales and will join Harsh Environment Solutions. Dexgreen, an Ireland-based provider of fiber optic connectivity for European fiber-to-the-home applications, is expected at about $90 million and will join Communications Solutions. Humanetics Sensors, a provider of precision force sensors and related products for commercial air, defense and industrial markets, is expected at about $70 million and will join Interconnect and Sensor Systems. The combined purchase price for the four deals is approximately $1.6 billion, to be financed with cash on hand and debt. AdvancedPCB and Humanetics Sensors are expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026; Dexgreen in the first quarter of 2027.

On October 27, the board raised the quarterly dividend 20% to $0.15 a share from $0.125, payable January 13, 2027. It also approved a new three-year, $4 billion stock repurchase program effective January 1, 2027, after the company said it expects to complete the remaining authorizations under the existing $2 billion plan by December 31, 2026.

Given continued better-than-expected performance of CommScope, Amphenol now expects that business to generate full-year 2026 sales of $5.1 billion and to be $0.18 accretive to adjusted diluted EPS, compared with the $4.6 billion sales outlook and $0.30 pre-split EPS accretion outlook ($0.15 on a split-adjusted basis) issued after the second quarter.

Assuming current market conditions and constant exchange rates, the company expects fourth-quarter 2026 sales of $10.3 billion to $10.5 billion, an approximately 60% increase over the year-ago quarter, and adjusted diluted EPS of $0.81 to $0.83, a 65% to 69% increase. For full-year 2026 it expects sales of $36.9 billion to $37.1 billion, an approximately 60% increase, and adjusted diluted EPS of $2.82 to $2.84, an approximately 70% increase. That guidance excludes AdvancedPCB, Dexgreen and Humanetics Sensors.
