Centrus Energy Acquires Westerman Holdings in $116 Million Deal

The uranium enrichment company said the mixed-structure purchase secures a centrifuge component supplier and opens adjacent non-nuclear manufacturing work.

Centrus Energy Corp. (LEU) acquired Westerman Holdings, LLC, in a mixed-structure transaction valued at approximately $116 million, the uranium enrichment company said.

The deal is framed as a supply-chain and capability play rather than a pure tuck-in. Centrus said the purchase secures a key centrifuge component supplier and a best-in-class manufacturer with an existing and growing business, diversifies revenue by expanding the company’s addressable market with adjacent non-nuclear manufacturing work, and is intended to drive growth through commercial and operational synergies and cost savings.

Amir Vexler, president and chief executive of Centrus, said bringing Westerman in-house demonstrates the company’s commitment to securing its supply chain to support its build-out while adding to its capabilities and expanding its customer base. He said Centrus is committed to growing and expanding Westerman alongside its enrichment business and is confident the transaction will unlock significant value for shareholders.

The rationale pairs two threads: locking in a supplier of a critical enrichment input, and using Westerman’s manufacturing base to take on work outside the nuclear stack. Centrus described Westerman as both a supplier of a key centrifuge component and a manufacturer with an existing and growing business, and said the combination is meant to diversify revenue through adjacent non-nuclear manufacturing.

The company said the transaction is expected to result in lower project costs for Centrus and greater efficiencies through an integrated supply chain. Vexler’s remarks tied the acquisition to the build-out of Centrus’s enrichment capacity and to a broader customer base beyond that core.

The mixed-structure purchase of about $116 million is the stated value of the Westerman Holdings acquisition. Centrus said it is committed to growing Westerman alongside its enrichment business, with the supplier relationship and adjacent manufacturing work as the two stated growth channels.
