Obefazimod: financing context changes while a filing remains planned

Abivax's half-year update connected a planned year-end US application with July financing completed after the June balance-sheet date.

Development event: September 21, 2026. Written September 23 UTC as reconstructed history, linked to the compound overview.

Abivax's half-year update connected a planned year-end US application with July financing completed after the June balance-sheet date. Management stated a runway into the fourth quarter of 2029. That is management's forecast, not a guarantee or an independently calculated runway. The dated company account (below) preserves reported balances, subsequent net proceeds and cash use separately. September 21 source.

The financing changes the resources available to execute the development and filing plan; it does not change the compound's approval status. A useful next update would distinguish an application actually submitted from a target date, and later distinguish acceptance for review from an approval decision. Repeating a projected cash balance after each registry edit would add little.

The clinical history still rests on the separate induction and maintenance programs, including ABTECT-1 and the maintenance trial. Capital and clinical evidence answer different questions. This entry records a material funding development without implying that the proceeds are all earmarked for one study or that a larger cash balance changes the trial results.

Abivax — company resources

At June 30, Abivax held €388.0 million cash and €14.4 million short-term investments. First-half operating cash use was €102.5 million versus €66.6 million a year earlier; net loss was €165.9 million. The combined borrowings/notes/derivatives line was €1.2 million. July net offering proceeds of €767.1 million are subsequent financing, not June cash. Management's runway forecast extends to Q4 2029. September 21 financial update.
