EcoPro expands battery material and environmental sectors

The battery materials division accounted for 72.1% of consolidated revenue.

The holding company EcoPro operates as a parent for a group focused on environmental services and secondary battery materials. The battery materials division represents the largest portion of the business, with the cathode material producer EcoPro BM contributing 72.1% of consolidated revenue. Other contributors to this segment include EcoPro Materials at 21.0%, EcoPro Innovation at 10.3%, and EcoPro CNG at 2.2%.

EcoPro BM is shifting its production strategy to mitigate geopolitical risks associated with the Critical Raw Materials Act and the Trade and Technology Council. To achieve this, the company intends to establish cathode material production facilities within Europe to ensure flexible capacity that aligns with market demand.

Other battery-related subsidiaries are also pursuing growth. EcoPro CNG plans to expand its BRP plants in South Korea for pre- and post-processing of waste batteries. EcoPro AP intends to diversify its portfolio by entering the high-value specialty gas and operations and maintenance businesses using existing ASU equipment.

In the environmental sector, EcoPro HN provides solutions for air quality improvement and wastewater treatment. Its revenue is distributed across cleanroom chemical filters at 32.1%, fine dust reduction solutions at 31.4%, greenhouse gas reduction solutions at 27.4%, and water treatment solutions at 8.4%. The company is currently pursuing new ventures in carbon capture and storage, semiconductor process materials for HBM4E, and eco-friendly ship engine exhaust post-treatment systems.

To strengthen technical capabilities, the group plans to integrate research and development organizations across its subsidiaries. The company intends to continuously secure personnel specialized in secondary battery research to improve efficiency through this unified structure.
