MiniMed U.S. Sales Growth Accelerates to 13%

The diabetes-technology company posted first-quarter net sales of $843 million and lifted full-year organic growth guidance to about 10.5%.

MiniMed Group (MMED) reported that U.S. net sales growth accelerated to 13.1% in the fiscal first quarter ended July 31, 2026, after 1.5% growth in the immediately preceding quarter, as the U.S. launch of MiniMed Flex pulled in new patients and competitive conversions after an early FDA clearance had shifted demand in the prior period.

Worldwide net sales were $843 million, up 16.6% as reported and 15.8% organically from a year earlier. The quarter included an approximate 4–6% benefit from an extra week in the 52–53-week fiscal calendar, consistent with the prior estimate; excluding that benefit, organic growth was in the low double digits.

U.S. net sales were $240 million. International net sales were $603 million, up 18.1% as reported and 16.9% organically, driven by Simplera capacity expansion and the launch of the Instinct sensor, made by Abbott.

Chief Executive Officer Que Dallara said the U.S. launch of MiniMed Flex was bringing new patients into the MiniMed ecosystem, driving competitive conversions, and generating significant new account growth.

U.S. new pumps sold grew more than 20% year over year, driven by MiniMed Flex and new sensor launches. Worldwide new pumps sold were about 34,000, up 7.7% year over year. The worldwide CGM attachment rate was 69%, up about 100 basis points from the prior quarter.

By product line, CGM net sales were $431 million, up 19.9% from $360 million a year earlier. Pumps were $144 million, up 21.5% from $119 million. Consumables were $261 million, up 13.8% from $229 million. Other, primarily smart insulin pens and services, was $7 million, down 57.1% from $15 million.

GAAP operating income was $5 million, versus an operating expense of $13 million a year earlier. Net income attributable to the company was $0, versus a net loss of $19 million. Cost of products sold was $378 million, and gross profit was $465 million.

MiniMed Flex with Simplera launched in the U.S., and U.S. coverage expanded to Medicare and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. MiniMed 780G with Instinct and MiniMed Go with Instinct Go launched in Europe. On August 17, MiniMed Flex with Instinct began its U.S. launch.

Pipeline milestones followed. MiniMed Fit, a patch pump, was submitted to the U.S. FDA ahead of a fall target, with a full U.S. launch expected in summer 2027. MiniMed Flex received CE Mark well ahead of a calendar 2026 year-end target, with commercial launch expected in November. Enrollment in the U.S. pivotal trial of Vivera’s fully closed-loop algorithm for type 1 and type 2 diabetes was complete, with a second-half calendar 2027 U.S. launch on track. A next-generation extended-wear MiniMed sensor received U.S. IDE approval, with first enrollment in a pivotal trial expected this fall.

For fiscal year 2027 ending April 30, 2027, MiniMed raised organic revenue growth guidance to approximately 10.5%, including the approximate 1.0 to 1.5% extra-week benefit, from a prior outlook of approximately 10%. It reaffirmed adjusted EBITDA margin of approximately 16%.
