MongoDB Revenue Growth Accelerates To 30% At $771.8 Million
The database company posted $40.9 million of GAAP net income, or $0.50 a share, and raised full-year fiscal 2027 revenue guidance.
MongoDB, Inc. (MDB) reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $771.8 million, up 30% from a year earlier, the fastest year-over-year growth rate in the three-quarter sequence provided and a step-up from 25% in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and 27% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.
President and Chief Executive Officer CJ Desai said the company delivered 30% year-over-year revenue growth, which he described as the highest level of growth in several years, and pointed to core enterprise workloads and early momentum with AI use cases. He said the company is raising full-year fiscal 2027 guidance.
Subscription revenue was $747.1 million, up 31% year-over-year. Services revenue was $24.6 million, up 29%.
Atlas revenue rose approximately 29% year-over-year, matching the more-than-29% Atlas growth the company reported in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and the 29% Atlas growth in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. Enterprise Advanced and other revenue rose approximately 36% year-over-year, after more than 13% growth in the prior quarter.
GAAP results swung to income from operations of $28.4 million after a $24.8 million operating loss in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and $0.3 million of operating income in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. GAAP net income was $40.9 million, or $0.50 a share, after $4.4 million, or $0.05 a share, in the prior quarter and $15.5 million, or $0.18 a share, in the quarter before. This was the company’s third consecutive quarter of GAAP earnings per share profitability.
Non-GAAP income from operations was $185.9 million, a 24% non-GAAP operating margin, after $123.2 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and $158.8 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. Non-GAAP net income was $162.6 million, or $1.90 a share, after $112.3 million, or $1.32 a share, in the prior quarter and $142.7 million, or $1.65 a share, in the quarter before. Chief Financial Officer Mike Berry said the quarter reflected growing operating leverage and a non-GAAP operating margin of 24%, up from 15% a year ago.
Gross profit was $569.8 million, a 74% GAAP gross margin, compared with 71% a year earlier and 72% in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Non-GAAP gross margin was 76%, compared with 74% a year earlier and 74% in the prior quarter.
Remaining performance obligations were $1,519.2 million, up 91% year-over-year, after $1,458.6 million, up 88% year-over-year, in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Current RPO was $797.3 million, up 73% year-over-year, after $766.3 million, up 69%.
During the three months ended July 31, 2026, the company generated $141.9 million of cash from operations and $137.6 million of free cash flow, compared with $72.1 million and $69.9 million a year earlier. Free cash flow was down from $197.5 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and $176.7 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. Cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and restricted cash were $2.4 billion as of July 31, 2026.
Full-year fiscal 2027 guidance was raised, with the second-half raise mainly due to Atlas, after full-year fiscal 2027 guidance was also raised in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, driven mainly by Atlas. Full-year fiscal 2027 revenue is now expected to be $2.99 billion to $3.03 billion. Non-GAAP operating income is expected to be $616.3 million to $636.3 million, and non-GAAP earnings $6.39 to $6.58 a share.
Third-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue is expected to be $756 million to $761 million. Non-GAAP operating income is expected to be $152.0 million to $156.0 million, and non-GAAP earnings $1.57 to $1.61 a share.
Desai said the company is emerging as an intelligent data platform for the AI era, with retrieval innovations and tools that connect coding agents to operational data on MongoDB. MongoDB Search and Vector Search are generally available in Enterprise Advanced, and the company launched an Atlas Managed MCP Server that connects coding agents to live Atlas data.
