KAI reports 2.26 trillion won consolidated revenue
The aerospace maker holds a standalone order backlog of 25.7502 trillion won as of the end of June 2026.
The aerospace and defense company KAI recorded consolidated revenue of 2.2606 trillion won and a net profit of 78.3 billion won for the first half of 2026. On a standalone basis, the company generated 2.2222 trillion won in revenue during the same period.
Fixed-wing aircraft remained the primary revenue driver, contributing 1.085 trillion won, or 48.83% of standalone sales. Within this segment, T-50 and KF-21 series aircraft accounted for 1.0148 trillion won. The airframe segment, which includes structures for Boeing and Airbus, followed with 506.46 billion won, representing 22.79% of standalone revenue. Rotary-wing aircraft contributed 412.32 billion won, while other categories, including satellites and UAVs, added 218.5 billion won.
Standalone revenue from defense and complete aircraft exports for the T-50 and KF-21 series reached 1.0148 trillion won in the first half of 2026. This follows a full-year 2025 result of 1.3879 trillion won for the same product line. Revenue from the KUH and LAH series totaled 369.62 billion won for the first half of 2026, compared to 637.15 billion won in 2025.
Financial activities during the period included the repayment of 300 billion won in corporate bonds. The company also increased short-term borrowings by 1.21 trillion won and repaid 970 billion won of short-term debt. Corporate bonds increased by 998.91 billion won.
KAI is expanding its operational footprint through new entities and acquisitions. The company established a European corporation in June 2025 and added Genoco to its consolidated subsidiaries in July 2025. Genoco reported 22.44 billion won in revenue for the first half of 2026. The company also incorporated Korea Surface Treatment as a consolidated subsidiary in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company is pursuing business expansion through the mass production of LAH and KF-21 aircraft. Other growth initiatives include the development of KUH derivatives, participation in civil aircraft RSP, and the creation of manned-unmanned teaming systems. KAI also intends to participate in research and development to become a total solution provider in the space sector.
