SK Telecom reports 1.1 trillion won operating profit
The company recorded consolidated operating profit of 1.1 trillion won for the first half of 2026.
The telecommunications provider SK Telecom reported consolidated operating profit of 1.1 trillion won for the first half of 2026. This result follows a full-year operating profit of 1.82 trillion won in 2024 and 1.75 trillion won in 2023.
Consolidated revenue for the first half of 2026 was 8.75 trillion won. The wireless communication segment remained the primary driver, contributing 6.5 trillion won to the total. The wired communication segment generated 2.11 trillion won, while other businesses contributed 147 billion won.
Operating profit by segment for the first half of 2026 showed the wireless communication business leading with 848 billion won. The wired communication segment added 254 billion won, and other businesses provided 5.2 billion won.
In 2024, the company focused on the intersection of telecommunications and artificial intelligence, which led to a consolidated revenue of 17.9 trillion won, a 1.9% increase from the previous year. During that period, mobile communication revenue rose 1.1% to 10.7 trillion won, supported by 5G subscribers exceeding 16.9 million.
AI-related growth was evident in 2024 as AIX business revenue grew 32% and AI DC revenue increased 13.1% year-on-year. The company also expanded its A. dot service, reaching 8.3 million cumulative subscribers.
For 2023, the company reported consolidated revenue of 17.6 trillion won, up 1.8% year-on-year, and consolidated operating profit of 1.75 trillion won, an 8.8% increase. Mobile communication revenue in 2023 was 10.6 trillion won, with 5G subscribers surpassing 15.5 million.
Looking forward, the company expects the high capacity and low latency of 5G networks to accelerate the launch of new services and the growth of IoT-based B2B businesses alongside AI advancements.
