CMA CGM Group to Buy FedEx Supply Chain in $1.4 Billion Deal
The divestiture is part of a strategic portfolio streamlining effort by FedEx as it reshapes its global logistics footprint.
FedEx (FDX) agreed to sell its FedEx Supply Chain business to CMA CGM Group for $1.4 billion. The structure of the transaction was not disclosed.
FedEx expects the deal to close in the second half of the calendar year 2026.
The sale is part of a strategic portfolio streamlining effort.
This divestiture follows a period of significant structural changes for FedEx. The company completed the spin-off of FedEx Freight into an independent, publicly traded company on June 1, 2026. Additionally, FedEx previously reached a conditional agreement to take InPost private in a joint venture with Advent International, A&R Investments, and PPF Group, a transaction also expected to close in the second half of 2026.
The move reflects a broader trend of consolidation and portfolio optimization within the logistics sector. TFI International has pursued an aggressive acquisition strategy, acquiring more than 214 companies since 1996 to build its North American LTL, TL, and logistics segments. Similarly, Radiant Logistics has expanded its footprint through a series of acquisitions and strategic operating partner conversions throughout 2024 and 2025.
