Severn Trent Reports 46% PBIT Growth and Record Capital Investment
The company increased its total dividend to 126.02 pence per share and invested £1.9 billion in assets during the 2025/26 financial year.
Severn Trent Plc reported a Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) of £861 million for the 2025/26 financial year, representing a 46% year-on-year increase. Within its Regulated Water and Wastewater business, turnover rose to £2,629 million from £2,249 million in 2024/25, while PBIT for that segment grew to £850 million. The Company's overall profit for the year was £204 million, compared to £755 million in 2025.
The company executed the largest capital investment program in its history, investing £1.9 billion in assets this year. Operational cash flow rose to £1,212 million from £869 million in 2024/25, while cash capex increased to £1,884 million. Severn Trent also achieved a net ODI reward of £56 million for 2025/26, with 78% of its ODI measures meeting or exceeding regulatory commitments.
For the 2025/26 period, the Board recommended a final dividend of 75.62 pence per ordinary share, bringing the total annual dividend to 126.02 pence per share, up from 121.71 pence in 2024/25. This follows an interim dividend of 50.40 pence paid in January 2026.
Looking forward, the company's Dividend Policy for 2025-2030 mandates that dividends during the AMP8 period will increase by annual growth of CPIH. Severn Trent is targeting approximately £150 million in total operating cost efficiencies by 2030 and a capital efficiency target of at least £500 million for the current regulatory period.
