Mueller Water Products Agrees to Transition Metering Business to ZENNER USA
The water-products maker said the agreement to transition the metering business will let it concentrate capital on stronger competitive positions.
Mueller Water Products, Inc. (MWA) entered into an agreement to transition its metering business to ZENNER USA, a move the Atlanta-based water-products maker said would simplify its portfolio.
The company said the transition will let it focus capital, talent and management attention on areas where it has stronger competitive positions and clearer opportunities for profitable growth.
Paul McAndrew, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mueller Water Products, said the step is intended to sharpen the company’s focus and strengthen it for the future.
Mueller describes itself as a leading manufacturer and marketer of products and solutions used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water in North America.
The agreement follows quarterly results through the third quarter of fiscal 2026 in which the company reported year-over-year net sales growth and, in several periods, raised annual guidance. In the fiscal 2026 third quarter ended June 30, 2026, net sales increased 4.1% to $395.9 million, with adjusted net income of $0.50 a share and a further raise in annual adjusted EBITDA guidance.
Management has framed those results around higher pricing across most product lines, operational excellence and disciplined cost management, while also citing slower new residential construction and broader external uncertainty.
The metering transition is the latest portfolio step in that same emphasis on concentrating the business on the product lines where Mueller said it holds a stronger competitive position.
