IAMGOLD reports US$404 million third-quarter mine-site free cash flow
The gold producer reported attributable production of 186,900 ounces for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026.
IAMGOLD Corporation (IAG), an intermediate gold producer and developer, reported mine-site free cash flow of US$404.3 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company produced 186,900 attributable ounces during the period, bringing its year-to-date attributable production to 558,600 ounces.
Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter was US$503.9 million, while year-to-date adjusted EBITDA reached US$1.68 billion. The company ended the quarter with available liquidity of US$1.61 billion, consisting of US$766.6 million in cash and cash equivalents and an available revolving credit facility balance of US$845.8 million.
Production at the Côté mine totaled 64,400 attributable ounces in the third quarter. The company said the operation completed its first full quarter without contractor crushing and operated above nameplate capacity in September. Management expects Côté to deliver its strongest quarter of the year in the fourth quarter, driven by increased processing rates and higher grades from mine sequencing.
Higher-grade underground ore supported Westwood's year-to-date mine-site free cash flow, while Essakane remained a significant contributor to cash flow. The company is on track to meet its full-year 2026 attributable production guidance of 720,000 to 820,000 ounces.
IAMGOLD used its cash position to return US$134.7 million to shareholders through the repurchase of 7.6 million shares during the quarter. Total repurchases since the program began in December 2025 reached approximately 32.1 million shares for US$592.6 million. The company intends to continue using cash flow from Essakane to repurchase shares, subject to TSX approval.
Total cash repatriated from Essakane in the third quarter was US$87.8 million, and US$497.6 million year-to-date. The US$87.8 million received in the quarter and an additional US$135.8 million repatriated after the quarter ended were installments of IAMGOLD's approximately US$400 million net portion of a dividend declared in 2026 from the mine's 2025 profits.
Other corporate activity included the August 10 divestiture of a 35% interest in the Bambadji Joint Venture in Senegal, which generated net proceeds of US$48.0 million.
Looking forward, the company expects to release an updated Côté mine plan later this year. Future studies through 2027 will include an extended mine life at Essakane, a preliminary economic assessment for the Nelligan Mining Complex, and underground expansion potential at Westwood. IAMGOLD also delivered an irrevocable notice to repurchase 50% of Franco-Nevada's existing 7.5% Gross Margin Royalty over the Côté Gold Mine.
