Haemonetics Raises Fiscal 2027 Revenue Outlook After Growth Pick-Up

Second-quarter revenue reached $357.8 million, up 9.3%, and the company lifted full-year reported growth guidance to 8-11%.

Haemonetics Corporation (HAE) reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $357.8 million, up 9.3% from a year earlier, as year-over-year growth accelerated from 5.6% in the first quarter. Organic revenue, which excludes currency and the exit of certain liquid solution products, rose 10.0%.

The medical technology company raised its fiscal 2027 reported revenue outlook to 8-11% from 5-8% and organic revenue guidance to 6-9% from 4-7%. It narrowed adjusted operating margin guidance to 0-50 basis points of year-over-year expansion from 50-100 basis points and lifted free cash flow conversion to greater than 80% from about 80%. Current organic guidance includes high-single-digit Apheresis growth, versus the prior low- to mid-single-digit Apheresis outlook, with MedSurg remaining mid-single digit.

Apheresis was the quarter’s defining thread. Unit revenue was $204.8 million, up 12.6% reported and 13.6% organically, after 6.0% organic growth in the first quarter. Plasma, the largest product line inside the unit, generated $162.6 million, with 17.7% organic growth. Other Apheresis products contributed $42.2 million. Chief executive Chris Simon said expansion of the CSL relationship and innovation milestones in Apheresis and MedSurg strengthened the company’s competitive position.

MedSurg revenue was $153.0 million, up 5.1% reported and 5.5% organically, after 5.9% organic growth in the first quarter. Blood Management Technologies posted $92.4 million of revenue and 7.0% organic growth. Interventional Technologies posted $60.5 million and 3.2% organic growth.

Gross margin expanded on both a GAAP and adjusted basis. GAAP gross margin was 61.7%, compared with 59.5% a year earlier. The company said the increase included tariffs refunded, a continued shift of the product portfolio toward higher-margin offerings, and the absence of amortization of fair-value inventory step-up. Adjusted gross margin was 61.9%, up 140 basis points from the year-ago period.

Operating expenses were $145.8 million, up 7.0% from a year earlier, which the company attributed to higher personnel-related costs and freight charges. Operating income was $75.1 million, for a 21.0% operating margin, compared with $58.5 million and 17.9% a year earlier. The effective income tax rate was 26.3%, compared with 24.6% a year earlier; the company said the increase was primarily due to valuation allowances against deferred tax assets in jurisdictions with losses from recent acquisitions. Net income was $46.3 million, or $1.00 a share, compared with $38.7 million, or $0.81 a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted operating expenses were $127.6 million, up 15.2% from a year earlier. Adjusted operating income was $94.1 million, up 7.8%. Adjusted operating margin was 26.3%. Adjusted net income was $62.6 million, or $1.35 a share.

Cash flow from operating activities in the quarter was $128.1 million, and free cash flow was $103.8 million. Cash on hand was $260.7 million as of September 26, 2026. The company said the increase in operating cash flow versus a year earlier was primarily favorable working-capital adjustments from the timing of payments and collections. Free cash flow was affected by higher capital expenditures, partially offset by lower non-cash transfers from Haemonetics equipment.

For the six months ended September 26, 2026, revenue was $697.1 million, up 7.5%, and organic revenue rose 8.0%. Diluted earnings were $1.72 a share; adjusted diluted earnings were $2.49 a share. Operating cash flow for the six months was $180.4 million and free cash flow was $142.9 million.

The company said adjusted earnings per diluted share guidance remains comparable to reported revenue growth. It will host a conference call on November 5, 2026, to discuss the results.
