Global Payments Lifts Worldpay Synergy Target to $650 Million

Adjusted net revenue reached $3.18 billion in the third quarter as normalized growth accelerated to more than 4%.

Global Payments Inc. (GPN) raised its expectation for annual run-rate Worldpay integration expense synergies to $650 million after a third quarter in which normalized adjusted net revenue growth accelerated to more than 4%.

The payment technology company said GAAP revenue was $3.31 billion and GAAP diluted earnings were $1.06 a share. Adjusted net revenue was $3.18 billion, up about 31% from a year earlier. Adjusted EPS rose 10% to $3.58.

Chief executive Cameron Bready said the company continued to make substantial progress integrating Worldpay, giving it confidence to increase the run-rate expense synergy target. He said third-quarter results were consistent with the company’s expectations.

On a normalized basis, which includes pre-acquisition Worldpay results and excludes Issuer Solutions and other divested businesses, adjusted net revenue increased over 4%, matching the full-year outlook. Adjusted operating margin expanded 220 basis points on that basis to 42.5%.

That sequential pick-up in normalized growth followed a 4% increase in the second quarter and about 5.5% (4.5% in constant currency) in the first quarter. Adjusted operating margin had expanded 70 basis points to 42.0% in the second quarter and 110 basis points to 39.9% in the first.

GAAP diluted EPS of $1.06 compared with $0.05 in the second quarter and a loss of $6.59 in the first. GAAP revenue of $3.31 billion was little changed from $3.32 billion in the second quarter.

Adjusted net revenue of $3.18 billion compared with $3.16 billion in the second quarter and $2.86 billion in the first.

By segment, Enterprise revenue was $836.3 million and Platforms revenue was $633.6 million. SMB revenue was $1.66 billion. Other revenues were $172.5 million.

Adjusted operating income was $1.35 billion. Enterprise operating income was $277.4 million, Platforms $196.9 million and SMB $636.1 million. Corporate/Other recorded an operating loss of $864.2 million.

Chief financial officer Josh Whipple said the company remains focused on commercial excellence, scale and integration execution. The full-year outlook is unchanged: normalized, constant-currency adjusted net revenue growth of approximately 4%–5%, adjusted EPS of $13.60–$13.80, and normalized adjusted operating margin expansion of approximately 150 basis points.

The revenue-growth and EPS ranges were introduced after the second quarter, when the company cited the Middle East conflict and its impact on the travel portfolio. The approximately 150-basis-point margin-expansion outlook had already been in place after the first quarter.

Bready said the company returned more than $1.4 billion in capital to shareholders year-to-date. The board approved a dividend of $0.25 a share payable December 24, 2026. The company continues to expect to return more than $2 billion of capital in 2026.
