1-800-Flowers Updates Fiscal 2027 Outlook After Site Sales

The gifting company now expects fiscal 2027 revenue to fall 2% to 5% and Adjusted EBITDA of about $10 million to $15 million after dropping PersonalizationMall.com and Things Remembered.

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. (FLWS) reported fiscal 2027 first-quarter revenue of $171.4 million, down 11.1% from a year earlier, and a net loss from continuing operations of $50.6 million, or $0.79 a share.

The gifting company said it entered the fiscal year with a priority on strengthening 1-800-Flowers.com and Harry & David, the websites it views as the greatest opportunity to improve overall performance. Chief Executive Officer Adolfo Villagomez said the company began to see signs of progress on those primary sites, with improving net order demand trends and a moderation in the pace of year-over-year declines.

Total net order demand in the quarter was $120.7 million, down 12.9%. Primary-brand net order demand was $105.2 million, down 8.0%. Other-website net order demand was $15.5 million, down 36.0%. In October, primary-brand net order demand was $40.8 million, down 3.4%, and other-website net order demand was $8.1 million, down 27.1%.

Beginning with this quarter, the company reports three segments: E-Commerce, Wholesale and Other, and BloomNet, replacing Consumer Floral & Gifts, Gourmet Foods & Gift Baskets, and BloomNet. E-Commerce revenue was $128.4 million, down 12.3%, which the company said reflected continued weakness across other websites and B2B operations, partially offset by improving demand on the primary websites. Wholesale and Other revenue was $20.5 million, down 10.7%. BloomNet revenue was $22.3 million, down 3.6%.

Gross profit margin fell 120 basis points to 34.1%, which the company attributed to lower sales volume, higher fuel surcharges, and promotional strategy testing, partially offset by cost-efficiency savings. Operating expenses were $105.0 million. Excluding non-recurring charges and the non-qualified deferred compensation plan in both periods, operating expenses were $102.3 million, primarily due to lower marketing and labor costs. Adjusted EBITDA loss from continuing operations was $31.9 million.

The company completed the sale of PersonalizationMall.com and Things Remembered during the fiscal second quarter and entered an agreement to sell its Jacksonville, Florida facility for approximately $10 million, subject to due diligence and customary closing conditions. Proceeds are expected to support debt reduction and strategic investments. Cash and cash equivalents were $9.4 million at September 27, 2026. Current maturities of long-term debt were $185.7 million.

Following the divestiture, the company updated its fiscal 2027 outlook to remove the sold businesses and to reflect planned reinvestment of a portion of the proceeds in revenue-generating initiatives across its primary websites. It now expects total revenues to decline between 2% and 5% and Adjusted EBITDA of approximately $10 million to $15 million.

Chief Financial Officer James Langrock said the Jacksonville sale and the completed site transactions reflect a focus on optimizing the capital structure, reducing debt, and providing capital to invest in performance initiatives. The company also said the new segment structure is intended to align financial reporting with how management evaluates performance and allocates resources.
