Chime Raises Fourth-Quarter and Full-Year 2026 Outlook

Third-quarter revenue reached $718 million, up 32% from a year earlier, and the company lifted both fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 guidance.

Chime Financial (CHYM) reported third-quarter revenue of $718 million, up 32% from a year earlier, accelerating from 27% year-over-year growth in the second quarter, and raised both fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 guidance.

The financial technology company said it delivered its third consecutive quarter of GAAP profitability. Net income was $44 million, or $0.11 a share, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $55 million, or $0.15 a share. Net margin was 6%.

Chief executive Chris Britt said the quarter was the strongest yet as a public company and that the company was seeing structural improvements in growth and profitability. He said Chime Prime and a growing lending business were deepening primary account relationships and driving what the company called the strongest unit economics in its history.

Payments revenue grew 22% year over year to $444 million, and 26% when combined with Outbound Instant Transfer revenue. Platform-related revenue grew 52% year over year to $274 million, which the company attributed to continued scaling of MyPay and Instant Loans. Gross profit was $646 million, yielding a 90% gross margin. Non-GAAP transaction profit grew 41% year over year to $530 million, for a 74% transaction margin. Adjusted EBITDA was $137 million, a 19% margin.

Active Members grew 20% year over year to 10.9 million, with about 500,000 net new members in the quarter after about 200,000 in the second quarter. The company said it added a record 1.8 million net new Active Members over the trailing 12 months and that direct depositor growth accelerated for a third straight quarter. Average revenue per Active Member grew 10% year over year to $270. Purchase Volume growth accelerated to 19% year over year to $38.5 billion, and 22% when including OIT volume.

Prime and Chime Card helped lift credit to 29% of Purchase Volume, nearly double a year ago. The company said members earning $75,000 or more annually remain its fastest-growing segment, with a significantly larger share of those members direct depositing and qualifying for Prime. Prime members generate more than double the ARPAM of the average Active Member. The lifetime value to member acquisition cost ratio reached nearly 10 times for all Active Members.

MyPay origination volume hit a record $5.3 billion, which the company said was the fastest growth in a year, with loss rates around 1%. Annualized MyPay revenue exceeded $500 million and transaction profit reached a record $80 million. Instant Loans originations were $381 million; more than 20% of Active Members use the product, and annualized revenue exceeded $115 million.

The company rolled out Chime Invest to all members, launched Visa Flex, began testing a new line of credit for Prime members, and introduced joint accounts. It said it plans to launch an unsecured credit card next year and to roll out a paycard for its Enterprise offering. Chime Enterprise signed The Michaels Companies, Inc., and the City of Charleston as its first public-sector employer partner.

The pending acquisition of Stride Bank remains on track to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The company continues to expect more than $100 million in annual net after-tax synergies.

For the full year of 2026, Chime now expects revenue between $2.792 billion and $2.802 billion, representing 28% year-over-year growth, and adjusted EBITDA between $519 million and $524 million, with a margin of approximately 19%. For the fourth quarter, it now expects revenue between $757 million and $767 million, up 27% to 29% from a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA between $161 million and $166 million, with a margin between 21% and 22%.
