Bruker Reaffirms 2026 Profit Outlook After Margin Expansion

Third-quarter revenue rose 1.6% to $874.0 million, non-GAAP operating margin reached 16.3%, and non-GAAP diluted EPS rose to $0.56 a share. GAAP operating loss was $91.0 million, including a $174.5 million non-cash goodwill impairment.

Bruker Corporation (BRKR) reported third-quarter revenue of $874.0 million, up 1.6% from a year earlier, as organic sales turned positive after a first-quarter decline. GAAP operating loss was $91.0 million, including a $174.5 million non-cash goodwill impairment.

The scientific instruments maker said organic revenue rose 0.7% year over year, reversing a 4.4% organic drop in the first quarter. Reported growth slowed from 5.2% in the second quarter. Acquisitions contributed 1.7% of the increase, constant-exchange-rate growth was 2.4%, and foreign-currency translation subtracted 0.8%.

Non-GAAP operating margin expanded 400 basis points to 16.3% from 12.3% a year earlier, continuing a stretch that had reached 14.1% in the second quarter. Non-GAAP operating income was $142.6 million. Non-GAAP diluted earnings were $0.56 a share, up 24.4% from $0.45 a year earlier.

GAAP results still included a $174.5 million non-cash goodwill impairment. GAAP operating loss was $(91.0) million, and GAAP diluted loss was $(0.81) a share.

Bruker Scientific Instruments generated $793.9 million of revenue, up 0.8%, with organic sales down 0.4%. Book-to-bill exceeded one for a fifth consecutive quarter. Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies revenue was $82.1 million, with organic growth of 11.8%.

President and Chief Executive Frank H. Laukien said the company achieved “very significant margin expansion and non-GAAP EPS growth, driven by our focus on cost discipline and execution.” He said positive booking trends continued, demand was strengthening in most end markets, and U.S. academic demand improved in the third quarter.

Laukien said BSI organic bookings and backlog were up mid-single digits year to date. The company said it expects revenue-growth acceleration, continued margin expansion and double-digit EPS growth in fiscal 2027.

Bruker reconfirmed full-year 2026 organic revenue growth of 1% to 2% and non-GAAP EPS of $2.10 to $2.15, compared with $1.83 in 2025. It narrowed the 2026 revenue range to $3.52 billion to $3.56 billion from $3.54 billion to $3.57 billion after the second quarter, citing foreign currency as neutral rather than a 0.5% tailwind. M&A is expected to add about 1.5% to revenue. The current constant-exchange-rate revenue-growth forecast is 2.5% to 3.5%. Guidance is based on exchange rates as of September 30, 2026.

For the nine months ended September 30, revenue was $2.54 billion, up 3.1%. Organic sales were down 0.3% for the period. Non-GAAP operating margin was 13.6%. Non-GAAP diluted earnings were $1.36 a share. GAAP diluted loss was $(1.20) a share.
