Masco Lifts 2026 Adjusted Earnings Outlook
The home-products maker now expects full-year adjusted earnings of $4.65 to $4.75 a share after third-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.19.
Masco Corporation (MAS), a manufacturer of branded home improvement and building products, raised its 2026 adjusted earnings outlook to $4.65 to $4.75 a share from a prior range of $4.40 to $4.60, citing year-to-date operational performance. Reported full-year earnings are now expected at $4.51 to $4.61 a share.
The company said it now expects that adjusted range after a third quarter in which adjusted earnings per share grew 23 percent to $1.19, compared with $0.97 a year earlier. Reported earnings were $1.17 a share.
Net sales increased 3 percent to $1,966 million in the three months ended September 30. Excluding the Bristan divestiture and currency, sales rose 4 percent.
President and CEO Jon Nudi said the quarter reflected “the strength of our teams, the disciplined execution of our strategy, and the resilience of our business.” He said Masco is “executing well against our strategy, delivering above-market growth and building momentum throughout the organization.”
Gross margin increased 240 basis points to 36.6 percent from 34.2 percent. Operating profit rose 12 percent to $338 million from $303 million, and operating margin increased 140 basis points to 17.2 percent from 15.8 percent. Adjusted operating profit was $351 million, and adjusted operating margin expanded 160 basis points to 17.9 percent from 16.3 percent.
Plumbing Products, the larger of the two reportable segments, posted net sales of $1,338 million, up 4 percent, or 5 percent in local currency excluding the divestiture. Adjusted operating margin in the segment was 19.1 percent. Decorative Architectural Products net sales were $628 million, essentially unchanged from a year earlier; adjusted operating margin there was 20.1 percent.
In local currency, North American net sales increased 5 percent. International net sales decreased 5 percent, or 1 percent excluding the divestiture.
The company returned $322 million to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases in the third quarter, after $454 million in the second quarter. Liquidity was $1,610 million at quarter-end, including $1,000 million of revolver availability. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.32 a share, payable November 23, 2026.
Nudi said Masco expects the demand environment to remain challenged in the near term and that long-term repair-and-remodel fundamentals remain strong. The company said it remains confident in its ability to leverage its brands, expand commercial capabilities and drive operational excellence.
