Labcorp to Buy Myriad Prenatal Health Unit for $210 Million in Cash Plus Inventory Value at Closing
The sale is expected to close by early 2027 and is framed by Myriad as accretive to growth and profitability.
Labcorp (LH) agreed to buy Myriad Genetics’ Prenatal Health testing business for $210 million in cash, plus the value of the unit’s inventory at closing, in a deal expected to close by early 2027.
The clinical-laboratory operator agreed to buy Myriad’s Prenatal Health testing business. The cash consideration is fixed at $210 million, with inventory value added on top at the close.
Myriad Genetics, the Utah-based diagnostics company, said the sale is expected to be accretive to its revenue growth and profitability, strengthen the balance sheet, and support continued investment in strategic priorities tied to the cancer care continuum. The company framed the transaction as a portfolio sharpening that frees capital for those cancer-care priorities.
“This announcement is the direct outcome of our disciplined strategic review process, which is focused on sharpening our portfolio, enhancing operational execution, and driving shareholder value,” said Sam Raha, President and CEO, Myriad Genetics.
The deal covers Myriad’s Prenatal Health testing business. Labcorp will acquire the testing operation and, at closing, the inventory associated with it. The $210 million cash price is the headline figure; inventory value is an additional, closing-date component.
Myriad said the proceeds and the exit from the prenatal franchise are expected to strengthen the balance sheet and support investment in the cancer care continuum. The company described the move as accretive to revenue growth and profitability.
The transaction is expected to close by early 2027. Until then, the Prenatal Health testing business remains with Myriad, and the cash-and-inventory consideration is the agreed structure.
