Interactive Brokers Raises Quarterly Dividend to $0.15

The automated global broker lifted the payout from $0.0875 a share after net revenues of $1.91 billion and diluted earnings of $0.69 a share.

Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (IBKR), an automated global broker, raised its quarterly cash dividend to $0.15 a share from $0.0875, a step-up after the board had held the payout at $0.0875 with second-quarter results.

The increase followed a quarter in which trading activity cooled. Commission revenue was $602 million, down 11% from $673 million in the prior quarter, after a 30% year-over-year increase in the second quarter. Year-over-year commission growth slowed to 12%.

Customer trading volumes reversed. Stocks fell 24% and options 1% from a year earlier, after rising 14% and 17% in the second quarter. Futures volume growth slowed to 13% from 2%.

Total customer DARTs were 4.27 million, down 11% from 4.82 million sequentially. Year-over-year DART growth slowed to 18% from 36%. Cleared average DARTs per account, annualized, fell 19% sequentially to 168 from 207. Commission per cleared commissionable order declined 2% sequentially to $2.59 from $2.64.

Net interest income rose 9% sequentially to $1.15 billion from $1.06 billion. Year-over-year growth slowed to 19% from 23%. The increase was primarily due to higher average customer margin loans and customer credit balances.

Net interest margin compressed to 1.99% from 2.16% a year earlier. Customer margin loans were $105.2 billion, down 3% sequentially from $108.5 billion. Year-over-year growth in margin loans slowed to 36% from 67%. Customer credits were $186.2 billion.

GAAP net revenues were $1.91 billion, up 1% sequentially from $1.90 billion. Year-over-year growth slowed to 16% from 28%. Adjusted net revenues were $1.87 billion. GAAP diluted earnings were $0.69 a share, matching the prior quarter. Adjusted diluted earnings were $0.67 a share.

Pretax profit margin was 78% both as reported and as adjusted, up from 77% in the second quarter. Income before income taxes was $1.50 billion as reported and $1.45 billion as adjusted.

Other fees and services were $88 million, essentially unchanged from $87 million sequentially. Year-over-year growth slowed to 33% from 40%. The line was led by increases of $11 million in risk exposure fees, $3 million in payments for order flow from exchange-mandated programs, and $3 million in market data fees.

Execution, clearing and distribution fees were $134 million, down 6% sequentially from $142 million. Year-over-year growth accelerated to 46% from 22%, mainly on a $30 million increase in regulatory fees due to a higher SEC Section 31 transaction fee rate.

Customer accounts rose 8% sequentially to 5.58 million from 5.19 million. Year-over-year account growth was 35%. Customer equity was $964.7 billion, up 4% sequentially from $930 billion. Year-over-year growth slowed to 27% from 40%.

Other income was $70 million, down 11% sequentially from $79 million. The decrease comprised mainly $50 million from investing activities, partially offset by an increase of $36 million from its currency diversification strategy. That strategy decreased comprehensive earnings by $4 million, as the U.S. dollar value of the GLOBAL decreased by approximately 0.08%.

Total equity was $23.3 billion, up from $22.3 billion at June 30. Stockholders’ equity was $6.22 billion and noncontrolling interests were $17.04 billion.

The dividend is payable on December 14, 2026, to shareholders of record as of December 1, 2026.
