Park Aerospace Corp. (PKE) reported net sales of $20,791,000 for the 2027 fiscal year second quarter ended August 30, 2026, reversing a sequential decline from the prior quarter and extending a year-over-year expansion that had already been underway.
The composite-materials maker, which develops film adhesives, lightning-strike protection products and other advanced composites for aerospace structures, had sales of $16,381,000 a year earlier. Sequentially, the quarter followed a drop from $24,187,000 in the 2026 fiscal year fourth quarter ended March 1, 2026.
Net earnings were $4,534,000, or $0.21 a share on both a basic and diluted basis, compared with $2,404,000, or $0.12 a share, a year earlier. Earnings from operations were $4,732,000. Adjusted EBITDA was $5,285,000.
Gross profit was $7,135,000, or 34.3% of net sales. Selling, general and administrative expenses were $2,403,000, or 11.6% of net sales. Net earnings equaled 21.8% of net sales. Interest and other income was $839,000.
The company develops and manufactures solution and hot-melt advanced composite materials used to produce composite structures for the global aerospace markets, including film adhesives (Aeroadhere) and lightning-strike protection materials (Electroglide), as well as specialty ablative materials for rocket motors and nozzles. It also designs and fabricates composite parts, structures and assemblies, including proprietary SigmaStrut and AlphaStrut product lines, for prototype aircraft, special-mission aircraft, spares and exotic spacecraft.
Cash and marketable securities were $114,749,000 at August 30, 2026, versus $89,368,000 at March 1, 2026. Accounts receivable, net, were $14,834,000. Inventories were $8,963,000. Shareholders’ equity was $162,732,000. Total assets were $175,083,000.
Weighted average basic shares outstanding were 21,733,000 in the quarter. Equity per share was $7.39 at August 30, 2026.
The company scheduled a conference call for 5:00 p.m. EDT on October 8, 2026, to discuss the results, with a replay available through October 15. Park also disclosed Adjusted EBITDA because an evaluation of ongoing operations based only on GAAP measures would be difficult.
For the six months ended August 30, 2026, net sales were $39,103,000, net earnings were $8,067,000, and Adjusted EBITDA was $9,861,000. Basic earnings for that six-month period were $0.38 a share. Those six-month figures sit alongside the second-quarter results as the company’s first-half 2027 fiscal-year record, with the second quarter supplying the sequential rebound in sales after the March-quarter dip and the year-over-year lift that had already been present in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
