Champion Homes to Buy Timberline Homes in Asset Deal

The homebuilder said the purchase will expand Southeastern retail locations and accelerate its direct-to-consumer strategy.

Champion Homes, Inc. (SKY) agreed to acquire Timberline Homes, Inc. in an asset-purchase transaction, a move the company said will expand its Southeastern U.S. retail footprint and accelerate a direct-to-consumer strategy by adding retail locations closely aligned with its manufacturing network.

The deal is expected to close in Champion’s fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027.

President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Larson said the addition of Timberline is a fit with Champion’s existing operations and a continuation of the expansion Dennis Adams led as founder and president of Timberline.

“Timberline Homes is a great fit to join the Champion Homes team and reflects the thoughtful expansion that Dennis Adams led as Founder and President of Timberline,” Larson said. “This planned acquisition underscores our strategic focus to elevate the homebuying experience for our customers by expanding our retail footprint in the region.”

Champion has already been adding retail capability. In its fiscal 2026 results, the company said it continued to invest in new products and services and expand retail capabilities, including the acquisition of Homes Direct. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, it closed the previously announced Iseman Homes acquisition.

The Timberline purchase is another step in that retail build-out, aimed at more locations in the Southeast that sit near Champion’s plants rather than a larger national combination. The company framed the rationale around access to high-quality retail locations that match its manufacturing network and around a direct-to-consumer model, not around creating a scaled national builder.

Larson’s comment tied the deal to the homebuying experience and to regional retail expansion. The company did not disclose a purchase price, an exchange ratio, or a cash-per-share figure in the announcement.

The planned close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027 leaves the transaction several quarters away from Champion’s current retail and manufacturing footprint. Until then, the company’s stated aim is to use Timberline’s locations to put more of its homes in front of buyers in the Southeast through its own retail channels.
