MarketAxess, ICE Refile Merger Notices to Extend DOJ Review

The companies refiled their antitrust notifications on September 29, resetting the scheduled waiting-period deadline to October 29.

MarketAxess Holdings Inc. (MKTX) said it and Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. refiled their premerger antitrust notifications on September 29, 2026, giving the Department of Justice additional time to review their proposed merger. The companies voluntarily withdrew their earlier notifications on September 25 before resubmitting them four days later.

MarketAxess said the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period is now scheduled to expire on October 29, subject to early termination or extension, including through a request for additional information and documents or an agreement by the parties.

MarketAxess has scheduled its stockholder vote on the merger agreement for October 29. The company said closing remains subject to expiration or termination of the antitrust waiting period, stockholder approval and satisfaction or waiver of the other closing conditions.
