Vertiv to Buy King Environmental in EMEA Thermal Deal
The critical-infrastructure provider said the purchase is expected to extend fluid-management services into Europe, Middle East and Africa after a North America-focused PurgeRite close.
Vertiv Holdings Co (VRT) agreed to acquire King Environmental Services Ltd. (KES), a move expected to expand its thermal management services into Europe, the Middle East and Africa and advance its strategy of supporting customers across the thermal chain.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company did not disclose a purchase price, cash-versus-stock mix or exchange ratio.
Chief Executive Gio Albertazzi framed the transaction as a field-execution play as computing density rises. “As computing density increases, the performance of cooling and power infrastructure will depend as much on execution in the field as on engineering and system design,” he said. “Our acquisition of PurgeRite, in December of 2025, established an important fluid management foundation in North America, and KES is expected to build on that foundation in EMEA.”
That sequencing is the through-line. Vertiv completed the approximately $1.0 billion acquisition of Purge Rite Intermediate LLC in December 2025, a Houston-based provider of mechanical flushing, purging and filtration for data centers and other mission-critical facilities, to deepen liquid-cooling services for high-density computing and AI applications. The PurgeRite purchase enhanced thermal management services capabilities and strengthened its position in next-generation thermal chain services for liquid cooling systems.
KES is positioned as the EMEA counterpart to that North America fluid-management base. The acquisition is expected to expand global thermal management services capabilities into the region and support customers across the thermal chain. The company did not describe KES’s product mix, locations or revenue in the announcement.
The thermal-chain build has already stretched across several deals. In June 2026, Vertiv completed the acquisition of ThermoKey S.p.A., an Italian heat-rejection and heat-exchange technology provider. The acquisition expanded its thermal management portfolio and manufacturing capabilities, particularly in EMEA, for AI factories and high-density data centers. In April 2026, it acquired Strategic Thermal Labs LLC, a specialist in cold-plate design, server-side liquid cooling and high-density thermal validation.
Albertazzi’s comment that KES is expected to build on the PurgeRite foundation in EMEA ties the new purchase to that same liquid-cooling services arc rather than to a separate product line. The acquisition is expected to advance its strategy to support customers across the thermal chain.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
