Duvakitug: shared funding accompanies a separate TL1A development path
Duvakitug, also identified as TEV-48574, is Teva and Sanofi's investigational antibody targeting TL1A.
Duvakitug, also identified as TEV-48574, is Teva and Sanofi's investigational antibody targeting TL1A. The partnership divides development costs and commercial responsibilities, so the program's backing cannot be judged from Teva's cash balance alone. Sanofi leads Phase 3 development. Agreement and responsibilities (below).
In February 2026 the partners reported longer-term Phase 2b findings from RELIEVE UCCD. The maintenance analysis followed people who had already responded during induction and rerandomized them between active dosing regimens. It therefore describes a selected responder population, not the chance that an unselected induction entrant will achieve remission. The release reported tolerability findings, but its sponsor summary is not a complete risk assessment. February update.
The Phase 3 ulcerative-colitis program has separate induction and maintenance records. Both were recruiting in the retrieved snapshots. Preserving those links allows later accounts to distinguish initial disease control from maintaining a response. The parallel Crohn's program is outside this series's ulcerative-colitis comparison and should not be merged into its outcomes. Induction, maintenance.
The relevant competitive question is how its eventual evidence compares with other TL1A programs and established therapies in the same patient setting. Phase 2 responder-maintenance percentages cannot rank it against Phase 3 induction results. No verified next readout date is established in this baseline.
The company account (below) distinguishes Teva's refinancing from incremental research cash and supplies Sanofi's operating cash generation. Received upfront money, contingent milestones and shared obligations remain separate facts in the compound history.
Teva — company resources
Teva reported $3.655 billion of cash at June 30, $4.500 billion of short-term debt and $12.092 billion of long-term senior notes and loans. First-half operating cash flow was $371 million and net loss $206 million. Its September debt offering was designed mainly to refinance existing obligations; the approximately $4.9 billion gross size is not additional uncommitted research cash. The prospectus's adjusted capitalization is illustrative rather than a new reported balance sheet. Form 10-Q filed July 29, September prospectus.
Sanofi — company resources
Sanofi reported €6.350 billion of cash at June 30, €7.026 billion of short-term/current debt and €14.646 billion of long-term debt, with lease liabilities reported separately. First-half operating cash flow was €4.643 billion, IFRS net income €1.957 billion and sales €22.106 billion. Its non-IFRS free cash flow of €3.724 billion is a separate measure. Duvakitug's shared development obligations need to be read alongside both companies' finances. Results published July 30.
Teva and Sanofi — duvakitug collaboration
The October 2023 agreement divides global development costs equally and shares profits and losses in major markets. Sanofi leads Phase 3 development. Teva leads commercialization in Europe, Israel and specified additional markets; Sanofi leads in North America, Japan, other parts of Asia and the remaining territories. Other markets use royalty arrangements.
Teva received $500 million after closing. Up to $1 billion of additional development and launch milestones was disclosed; those payments depend on future events. The division of responsibilities explains why Teva's own cash balance is only part of the funding context. It does not eliminate clinical risk or establish that future payments have been earned. Sanofi agreement announcement, October 4, 2023, Teva confirmation of receipt and development plans, 2024.
