Mercari reports record revenue and core operating profit

Group operating profit rose 57.7% to 43.905 billion yen.

Mercari, Inc. (TSE-4385) operated the Mercari C2C marketplace, which reported GMV of 1.2856 trillion yen for June 2026 and more than 24 million monthly active users.

Mercari said its Marketplace efforts prioritized a stronger core transaction experience and cross-border trade. The company said the core-experience work supported balanced growth in customer numbers, spending and transaction frequency, lifting GMV 14.7% year on year to 1.2856 trillion yen and restoring double-digit growth for the first time since June 2023.

Mercari met its earnings forecast and reported record consolidated revenue of 229.2 billion yen and record core operating profit of 44.1 billion yen.

Mercari reported operating profit of 43.905 billion yen, up 57.7% year on year, and profit attributable to owners of the parent of 35.401 billion yen, up 35.6%.

Mercari expanded Fintech receivables 44.4% year on year to 358.1 billion yen. The company attributed the increase to higher transaction volume within Mercari, membership gains for Mercard and broader use of the card outside the platform.

Mercari’s Fintech core operating profit reached 9.1 billion yen, increasing 4.6 billion yen from a year earlier as Credit grew.

Mercari’s US GMV rose 11.2% year on year to USD 810 million, supported by core product improvements, category-focused customer relationship management, shipping-discount campaigns and demand in entertainment and hobby categories. US revenue reached 40.782 billion yen, up 12.0%.

Mercari’s cross-border GMV reached 112.2 billion yen, or about 9% of total Marketplace GMV, as the business captured demand in entertainment and hobby categories.

Mercari said it plans to continue investing in advertising and promotion in Japan and overseas as it seeks to acquire more customers and increase activity among existing customers.
