Joyful Honda's Home-Improvement Sales Rise as AC Demand Surges
Joyful Honda Co., Ltd. reported net income attributable to parent shareholders of 9,002 million yen for the fiscal year ended June 20, 2026.
Joyful Honda Co., Ltd. (TSE-3191), a home-improvement and home-center retailer, posted consolidated sales of 132,817 million yen for the fiscal year ended June 20, 2026, with operating profit of 8,732 million yen and ordinary profit of 9,954 million yen.
Joyful Honda pointed to a widely anticipated turning point for air conditioners in 2027, combined with a sharp rise in copper prices, as forces that sharply increased demand for air-conditioning equipment, piping components, electrical materials and related installation work, which the company said contributed significantly to sales.
Sales in Joyful Honda's housing-related segment, covering building materials, professional-use goods, interior and living products, and garden and farm goods, totaled 75,195 million yen for the year.
Consolidated assets stood at 167,672 million yen at fiscal year-end, with land accounting for 57,663 million yen and cash and deposits for 25,193 million yen.
Consolidated liabilities totaled 41,234 million yen, including accounts payable of 8,014 million yen, long-term loans of 5,476 million yen and asset retirement obligations of 5,253 million yen, while net assets reached 126,438 million yen.
Joyful Honda opened a series of specialty stores through the year, including a Hondaya outlet in Ageo in September 2025, a Hondaya store in Yashio in January 2026, a Joyful Honda materials-center store in Chiba's Hamano district in March 2026, and further Hondaya and materials-center openings in Higashikurume and Kitamoto in June 2026, alongside a new pet-specialty store, Pet's CLOVER, in Kashiwanoha in August 2025.
Joyful Honda also set a target for positive-response rates in an internal workplace-satisfaction survey to reach a 50 percent certification threshold by the fiscal year ending June 2028.
Under a three-year mid-term management plan covering the fiscal years through June 2028, Joyful Honda set a target of opening 20 to 30 additional stores combining standalone specialty formats and materials-center outlets over the plan period.
