Addus HomeCare to Buy AccentCare Personal Care for $275 Million

The home-care provider said the asset purchase would add about $280 million in annualized personal care revenue, a roughly 19% lift to its revenue base.

Addus HomeCare Corporation (ADUS) agreed to acquire the personal care division of AccentCare for approximately $275.0 million in an asset-purchase deal.

The transaction is expected to close following completion of regulatory approvals and subject to customary closing conditions. The purchase broadens Addus’ personal care service line and further establishes it as a leading scaled, multi-state, non-franchise home care platform.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dirk Allison said the deal “directly aligns with our strategic growth initiatives.” He said the acquisition is expected to add approximately $280 million in annualized personal care revenue, representing a roughly 19% increase to Addus’ revenue base, and is expected to be accretive to financial results.

Allison said the deal will deepen operational presence across key markets and enhance the company’s ability to collaborate with managed care organizations and value-based care partners. He said it continues a growth strategy to leverage personal care experience to build scale in existing markets as well as enter select new markets.

Addus is a provider of home care services that primarily include personal care services that assist with activities of daily living, as well as hospice and home health services. Its consumers are primarily persons who, without these services, are at risk of hospitalization or institutionalization, such as the elderly, chronically ill and disabled. Payer clients include federal, state and local governmental agencies, managed care organizations, commercial insurers and private individuals.

Addus provides home care services to approximately 62,500 consumers through 264 locations across 24 states.

The company has been adding personal care operations through acquisitions. In May 2026, it announced an acquisition of personal care operations in Indiana and an agreement for an additional Indiana acquisition. In August 2025, it completed the acquisition of Helping Hands Home Care, expanding Pennsylvania operations.

In first-quarter 2026 results, net service revenues were $363.6 million, up 7.7% from $337.7 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $44.5 million. Adjusted net income per diluted share was $1.62.

The AccentCare personal care purchase is the largest disclosed acquisition in the company’s recent sequence of personal-care deals. The $275.0 million asset purchase is expected to be accretive to financial results once it closes.
