Francisco Partners to Buy Weave Communications in $650 Million Cash Deal

The acquisition aims to accelerate the development of Weave's AI-powered healthcare platform and expand its revenue cycle management capabilities.

Francisco Partners agreed to acquire Weave Communications, Inc. (WEAV) in an all-cash transaction valuing the company at approximately $650 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, Francisco Partners will pay $7.40 per share in cash. This price represents a premium of approximately 34% to Weave’s unaffected closing stock price as of August 17, 2026. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and the approval of Weave stockholders.

Weave said the transaction will allow it to accelerate investment in its AI-powered platform for healthcare practices and deepen its capabilities in payments and revenue cycle management. “Together with Francisco Partners, we will be able to enhance our ability to invest in our AI platform, deepen our payments and revenue cycle management capabilities, and further our vision of a better healthcare experience at every practice,” said Brett White, Chief Executive Officer of Weave.

Weave operates an AI-powered patient communications and engagement platform designed for small and medium-sized healthcare practices. The company’s software integrates voice and text conversations into workflows that manage scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, and payment collection. The platform currently serves nearly 40,000 customer locations.

This transaction follows a period of inorganic growth for Weave, including its 2025 acquisition of TrueLark, an AI-powered receptionist and front-desk automation platform, for $35 million. The TrueLark deal was intended to introduce agentic AI capabilities to Weave’s front-office operations to help practices manage missed calls and automate appointment booking.

The broader healthcare software sector has seen similar AI-driven consolidation, such as Waystar’s 2025 acquisition of Iodine Software for $1.25 billion to enhance clinical intelligence and prevent payment denials.

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions.
