SOL Strategies Revenue Drops as Intangible Asset Impairments Hit

The Solana-focused infrastructure company reported a nine-month operating income of 5.04 million Canadian dollars against 16.11 million Canadian dollars in impairment losses.

SOL Strategies Inc. (STKE), a Solana-focused digital asset infrastructure company, reported a decline in operating income for the first nine months of its 2026 fiscal year. The company generated 5.04 million Canadian dollars in operating income for the period ended June 30, 2026, compared to 6.81 million Canadian dollars for the same period in 2025.

Financial results were weighed down by significant non-cash charges. The company recorded 16.11 million Canadian dollars in impairment losses on intangible assets during the nine-month period. These losses followed a quarter ending June 30, 2026, where the company recognized 4.00 million Canadian dollars in similar impairments.

Revenue streams shifted as the company integrated new business lines. The company introduced swap aggregator fees, which contributed 1.17 million Canadian dollars to operating income for the nine months ended June 30, 2026. This revenue followed the acquisition of HoudiniSwap, LLC, a privacy-focused cross-chain swap aggregator that the company said provides revenue streams independent of the price of SOL.

Other core revenue lines saw a downward trajectory. Validation service income fell to 941,631 Canadian dollars for the nine-month period, down from 3.86 million Canadian dollars in 2025. Staking rewards remained relatively flat, totaling 2.93 million Canadian dollars compared to 2.96 million Canadian dollars in the prior year.

Operating expenses rose in several categories. Management remuneration and fees reached 2.37 million Canadian dollars for the nine months ended June 30, 2026, up from 1.07 million Canadian dollars in 2025. Professional fees also increased to 3.06 million Canadian dollars from 2.08 million Canadian dollars in the same period.

The company's balance sheet reflected a reduction in digital asset holdings. Cryptocurrencies held as of June 30, 2026, were valued at 48.27 million Canadian dollars, a decrease from 126.53 million Canadian dollars on September 30, 2025. Total assets fell to 96.70 million Canadian dollars from 169.60 million Canadian dollars.

Liabilities increased to 63.04 million Canadian dollars from 54.82 million Canadian dollars. This included 13.90 million Canadian dollars in credit facility obligations and 33.24 million Canadian dollars in combined current and long-term convertible debentures.

As of August 6, 2026, the company's HoudiniSwap business had processed approximately 2.8 billion US dollars in cumulative transaction volume since its launch.
