LG Electronics Expands AI and Robot Solutions
The Home Appliance Solution division accounts for 29.5% of total sales.
The electronics maker is diversifying its portfolio through the development of home robots and smart home solutions based on the ThinQ AI home platform. The company is currently developing home robots by utilizing existing capabilities in cleaning, industrial, and commercial robotics to achieve meaningful business results in the high-potential robot sector. This effort includes the 2026 unveiling of the LG Cloid home robot as part of a broader vision for a zero-labor home.
Revenue streams are distributed across five primary reporting segments. The Home Appliance Solution division is the largest contributor at 29.5% of total sales. LG Innotek follows with 23.3%, while the Media Entertainment Solution division represents 21.6%. The Vehicle component Solution and Eco Solution divisions contribute 12.8% and 11.7% respectively.
In the display sector, the company is focusing on the growth of OLED TVs to drive premium demand. The company expects OLED TVs to continue growing year-on-year due to persistent customer preference for high-end viewing experiences. To support this, the company is releasing new Micro RGB and Mini LED TV models to lead the premium LCD market.
The company is also expanding its B2B presence in the automotive sector. It is developing integrated products for software-defined vehicles and enhancing innovation in next-generation displays and communications. Additionally, the company is scaling its AI data center HVAC business.
Operational risks include volatility in global raw materials, exchange rates, and ocean freight costs. The company also noted that geopolitical risks and changes in United States tariff policies create regional market uncertainty. To mitigate these, the Home Appliance Solution division is employing flexible global production site operations.
