Outlook Therapeutics Wins FDA Approval for LYTENAVA
The company said it plans a U.S. launch before year-end 2026 and that LYTENAVA could exceed $500 million in annual U.S. sales by 2030.
Outlook Therapeutics, Inc. (OTLK), a biopharmaceutical company focused on LYTENAVA for wet age-related macular degeneration, said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved LYTENAVA, the only FDA-approved ophthalmic bevacizumab, and that it plans a U.S. commercial launch before the end of calendar 2026.
The approval closed a regulatory arc that had been unresolved through the prior two quarters. In the second fiscal quarter, ended March 31, 2026, the company had held a formal dispute-resolution meeting with the FDA over a complete response letter for ONS-5010/LYTENAVA and had said it expected a formal decision in May 2026. That decision has now arrived as an approval, and management framed it as a defining moment that creates a significant opportunity in the United States.
Chief Executive Officer Bob Jahr said the company’s priorities are to build a commercial team with retina and launch experience, prepare for the planned U.S. launch by the end of calendar 2026, and execute a strategy that reflects the competitive wet AMD landscape. Based on current estimates, management believes LYTENAVA has the potential to exceed $500 million in annual U.S. sales by 2030. The company is expanding payer engagement, scaling commercial supply, and building a focused commercial organization. It plans to submit an application for a permanent HCPCS code by October 1, 2026, to support reimbursement after launch.
The quarter’s financials remained those of a pre-launch company. For the three months ended June 30, 2026, net loss attributable to common stockholders was $20.3 million, or $0.15 a share, compared with $4.5 million, or $0.05 a share, in the fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2026. Adjusted net loss attributable to common stockholders was $10.9 million, or $0.09 a share. The GAAP loss widened from the immediately preceding quarter even as the adjusted figure stayed in the same low-double-digit range; the company excluded $1.1 million of loss from change in fair value of promissory notes, $1.3 million of loss on extinguishment of debt, and $7.0 million of loss from change in fair value of warrant liability.
Net revenues were $9 thousand, versus $1.5 million in the year-ago quarter, and gross profit was a loss of $8 thousand. Research and development expense was $3.3 million, and selling, general and administrative expense was $7.6 million. Loss from operations was $10.8 million. Weighted average shares outstanding, basic and diluted, were 136.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026.
Cash and cash equivalents were $11.2 million as of June 30, 2026, excluding subsequent offering proceeds. Subsequent to quarter-end, in August 2026, the company announced a public offering of 55,555,556 shares of common stock and accompanying warrants to purchase the same number of shares, at a combined public offering price of $0.99 per share and accompanying warrant, for approximately $51.1 million of net proceeds after underwriting discounts, commissions and other estimated offering expenses.
In Europe, the company continues commercialization of LYTENAVA in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom, is preparing a planned Netherlands launch later in 2026 following its Netherlands submission, and partner Mediconsult is leading regulatory and commercial activities in Switzerland toward an anticipated 2027 launch. The company’s launch and go-to-market strategy is designed to reflect the evolving biosimilar landscape, affordability considerations, and the potential for additional market entrants, while supporting broad patient access and reimbursement.
Jahr said the company is taking a targeted approach to customer engagement, pricing, and reimbursement, and that the foundation will position it to drive broad access and successful adoption following launch. The company has established customer segmentation to prioritize retina practices with the greatest potential for early adoption. The U.S. launch remains planned before the end of calendar 2026, with the HCPCS application targeted by October 1, 2026.
