Digi Power X Began Generating AI Compute Revenue
Digi Power X recorded approximately $1.1 million of GPU rental revenue in its second quarter, bringing its AI infrastructure transition into revenue-producing operations.
Digi Power X Inc. (DGXX), an AI data center infrastructure operator, generated its first AI compute revenue in the second quarter, although the new business had yet to reverse the decline in total sales. Revenue slipped sequentially to approximately $6.6 million from $6.8 million in the first quarter, when the company attributed declining revenue to its planned wind-down of legacy operations.
GPU bare-metal rental contributed approximately $1.1 million from about five weeks of operations. Colocation services and legacy mining remained the largest revenue source at approximately $3.6 million, while energy sales supplied $1.9 million. The mix showed an AI compute business beginning to contribute alongside the activities that continued to account for most of the company's quarterly revenue.
Digi Power X had invested approximately $30 million in GPU infrastructure representing approximately 0.6 MW of deployed compute capacity. The company said its B300 GPU bare-metal infrastructure had operated at 100% uptime since May. It plans to expand the platform by approximately 10 MW during 2027 and is evaluating additional power sites to support future deployments.
Adjusted EBITDA reached approximately $3.3 million, following $1.1 million in the first quarter; the latest result also exceeded the approximately $0.1 million recorded a year earlier. The measure remained positive as the company began recording AI compute sales, extending the first quarter's return to positive adjusted EBITDA.
The GAAP result moved in the opposite direction. Net loss widened sequentially to approximately $14.4 million from $4.7 million. The company's reconciliation to adjusted EBITDA added back $5.8 million of share-based compensation and a $5.0 million warrant fair-value loss, along with depreciation, amortization and a cryptocurrency revaluation loss. The positive adjusted result therefore coexisted with a substantial reported loss and excluded several expense and valuation items.
Cash and cash equivalents stood at $142.4 million on June 30, compared with $73 million on March 31. The company subsequently reported approximately $150 million in cash as of August 14, when Chief Executive Michel Amar also said it had no debt.
By the August announcement, Digi Power X reported approximately $110 million of year-to-date capital investment and equipment deposits. Amar said the company was in advanced discussions with lenders to finalize financing for its Alabama data center and had engaged Goldman Sachs to assist with syndication. Financing remained consequential: the project's second phase was conditioned on securing adequate funding.
Alabama was the next scheduled delivery milestone. Construction of Digi Power X's purpose-built Tier III data center in Columbiana remained on schedule. The company expects the first phase, representing 15 MW of IT load, to be delivered in December 2026, followed by another 25 MW in March 2027. President Alec Amar described timely delivery as the basis for establishing the operating record sought by hyperscale customers and project lenders.
The site's 10-year AI data center agreement represented approximately $1.1 billion of contracted future revenue. An expansion option could increase the potential contract value to approximately $2.5 billion. Those amounts covered the agreement's term; they were distinct from the annualized revenue targets attached to the planned deployment schedule.
The company expects third-quarter 2026 revenue to increase significantly from the second quarter, making the next reporting period its nearest stated milestone for the revenue transition.
