Osisko Gold Group Reports Net Income of $179.3 Million
The mineral exploration company ended the first half of 2026 with a cash balance of $837.3 million following a series of financing rounds.
Osisko Gold Group Inc. (ODV), a mineral exploration and development company focused on North American precious metals, reported net income of $179.3 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026. The company recorded a net income of $119.1 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared to a net loss of $46.0 million in the same period the previous year.
Revenue for the second quarter rose to $32.7 million from $6.9 million in the prior-year period. The company attributed this growth to gold sales from the Tintic Project in Utah, specifically from direct shipping of mineralized material and heap leach operations. For the first six months of 2026, total revenue was $34.9 million, compared to $6.9 million for the same period in 2025.
Cash inflows were driven by significant financing activities. Net cash inflows from financing activities totaled $568.2 million for the first half of 2026, compared to cash outflows of $2.8 million in 2025. These inflows included $414.3 million from a May 2026 convertible senior notes offering, $196.3 million from a February 2026 offering, and $36.5 million from the exercise of warrants.
Capital expenditures increased as the company ramped up the Cariboo Gold Project in British Columbia. Additions to mining interests, property, plant, and equipment, along with exploration and evaluation expenses, totaled $106.2 million in the second quarter of 2026, up from $13.3 million in the second quarter of 2025. These expenditures funded underground development in the Lowhee and Cow Zones, as well as the expansion of the Ballarat Camp and the Bonanza Ledge water treatment plant.
Despite the increase in cash, the company flagged material uncertainties regarding its ability to continue as a going concern. Management stated that the working capital position of $670.1 million as of June 30, 2026, will not be sufficient to meet obligations and forecasted expenditures through June 2027. The company noted that its ability to fund planned activities depends on securing additional financing.
Looking ahead, the company has approved several objectives for the Cariboo Gold Project to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. These include $19.7 million for underground development, $17.5 million for regional surface exploration drilling, and $11.4 million for infrastructure and water management.
