Life360 Restores Monthly Active User Growth

Second-quarter revenue reached $159.0 million as monthly active users hit about 102.4 million and advertising revenue set a record.

Life360, Inc. (LIF), a provider of family connection and safety mobile applications, added 4.6 million monthly active users in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, lifting the global total to approximately 102.4 million and returning the metric to the growth trajectory the company outlined after a slower first quarter.

That user rebound was the quarter’s defining turn. First-quarter net additions had been 1.9 million, and year-over-year MAU growth had been 17%. In the second quarter, year-over-year MAU growth was 16%, but the sequential add was more than double the prior quarter’s, and disciplined execution put MAU back on the path the company had described. Chief Executive Officer Lauren Antonoff said the company crossed 100 million monthly active users.

Total revenue was $159.0 million, up 38% from a year earlier, matching the 38% year-over-year growth rate reported in the first quarter. Sequential revenue rose from $143.1 million. Subscription revenue was $115.6 million, up 31% year over year, after 32% growth in the first quarter. Core subscription revenue, which excludes hardware-related subscriptions, was $111.1 million, up 34% year over year.

Global Paying Circles reached 3.2 million, up 27% year over year, matching the first-quarter growth rate. Second-quarter net additions were 185 thousand, versus 201 thousand in the first quarter. Average revenue per paying circle was $142.56, up 5% year over year, after 7% growth in the first quarter. The ARPPC increase was primarily due to a shift in product mix toward higher-priced offerings in select international markets. International ARPPC rose 14% year over year, reflecting price increases and mix.

Advertising revenue reached a record $22.0 million, up 315% year over year, after $19.7 million in the first quarter. The increase was driven primarily by new advertising offerings following the Nativo acquisition. Hardware revenue declined 20% year over year to $9.8 million. Net hardware units shipped fell 18% year over year to approximately 0.7 million, primarily due to the strategic exit from brick-and-mortar retail and a decrease in online retail sales. Other revenue was $11.6 million, up 25% year over year, on higher data volumes and partnership revenue share.

Gross margin expanded to 80% from 78% a year earlier, after holding at 78% in the first quarter. The lift came primarily from improved subscription and hardware gross margins, including receipt of tariff refund claims, partially offset by lower advertising gross margin after the Nativo expansion. Adjusted EBITDA was $31.1 million, up 53% from $20.3 million a year earlier, after 7% year-over-year growth in the first quarter. Adjusted EBITDA margin was 20%. Operating cash flow was $23.8 million, up 79% year over year.

Operating expenses rose 43% year over year to $127.0 million, or 80% of revenue, from 77%. The increase reflected higher personnel costs from growth and Nativo, higher app-store commissions, and, in research and development, workplace restructuring costs tied to a transition to an AI-native organization. Cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and short-term investments were $467.7 million at quarter-end. The company repurchased 314,762 treasury shares for $13.2 million, leaving $211.8 million available under a $225.0 million program.

For full-year 2026, Life360 expects consolidated revenue of $650 million to $685 million, unchanged, with year-over-year growth of 33% to 40%. It raised subscription revenue guidance to $475 million to $480 million from $470 million to $475 million and reduced hardware revenue guidance to $35 million to $45 million from $40 million to $50 million. Advertising revenue guidance of $98 million to $115 million, other revenue of $42 million to $45 million, Adjusted EBITDA of $130 million to $140 million, and MAU growth of 17% to 20% weighted toward the second half were unchanged. Revenue growth is expected to accelerate into the back half of 2026, driven by continued subscription strength and the advertising platform entering its strongest seasonal window.
