RUM Group to Acquire Northern Data AG in Strategic AI Infrastructure Deal

The acquisition combines scaled AI compute with a video creator community to establish a new cloud and AI-infrastructure business unit.

RUM Group Inc. (RUM) completed its acquisition of Northern Data AG on June 17, 2026. The transaction was structured as a voluntary public exchange offer, with Northern Data shareholders receiving 2.0281 newly issued Class A RUM shares for each Northern Data share.

Following the close, RUM Group now owns approximately 85.2% of Northern Data’s outstanding shares. The deal was supported by commitments from Tether and shareholders affiliated with Northern Data’s co-CEO, Aroosh Thillainathan, who collectively represented approximately 72% of Northern Data's outstanding shares.

The acquisition establishes two synergistic business units: Rumble, the company's video platform, and Quake AI, a new cloud and AI-infrastructure business. The move combines scaled AI compute with Rumble's video data and creator community to power the coming robotic and agentic AI era.

“This was a transformational quarter for our company,” said Chris Pavlovski, Founder and CEO of RUM Group Inc. “On June 17, we closed our acquisition of Northern Data and renamed our parent company RUM Group Inc., establishing two synergistic business units: Rumble, our video platform, and Quake AI, our new cloud and AI-infrastructure business”.

Northern Data provides high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure, bringing with it one of Europe’s largest independent GPU estates with roughly 22,000 high-end NVIDIA GPUs. The target company also contributed approximately 250 MW of current energized and planned power across ten data centers, including four owned sites. This includes a site in Maysville, Georgia, anticipated to deliver up to 180 MW of capacity.

The acquisition delivers an immediate uplift to the company's financial profile, as Northern Data raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to between 170 million and 190 million euros. There is also a multi-year agreement with Together AI with a $270 million total contract value for dedicated GPU cloud capacity.
