Fortuna Mining Net Income Rises to $203.7 Million
The gold producer reported sales of $660.9 million for the first six months of 2026
Fortuna Mining Corp. (FSM), a gold mining company, reported net income from continuing operations of $203.7 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with $86.6 million for the same period in 2025.
Sales for the first half of 2026 rose to $660.9 million from $425.5 million in the prior-year period. This growth in top-line revenue drove a significant increase in mine operating income, which reached $395.3 million compared with $185.4 million in the first six months of 2025. Operating income for the period climbed to $337.0 million from $139.7 million.
For the three months ended June 30, 2026, the company reported sales of $318.4 million, up from $230.4 million in the second quarter of 2025. Net income from continuing operations for the quarter was $83.7 million, compared with $47.7 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
Cash flow from operating activities for continuing operations totaled $347.6 million for the first six months of 2026, an increase from $181.7 million in 2025. The company used $113.2 million for additions to mineral properties and property, plant and equipment during the first half of the year, compared with $85.0 million in the prior-year period.
Fortuna also engaged in share repurchases, spending $106.6 million to buy back common shares during the first six months of 2026, compared with $4.2 million in 2025.
The company's financial results were impacted by the divestment of the Sanu Entities. For the first six months of 2026, the company recorded a loss from discontinued operations of $18.1 million, though the Sanu Entities had generated $35.2 million in net income from operating activities before the loss on sale and related tax expenses.
Fortuna flagged several operational risks and dependencies, including a substantial reliance on the Lindero Mine and the Séguéla Mine for revenues. The company is seeking an environmental permit for underground operations at the Sunbird deposit at the Séguéla mine and an exploitation permit for the Diamba Sud project.
