Superior Group Confirms 2026 Outlook After Apparel Impairment
Adjusted earnings were $0.21 a share after a $2.6 million Healthcare Apparel tradename charge that left reported profit at $0.08 a share.
Superior Group of Companies, Inc. (SGC) posted adjusted earnings of $0.21 a share in the second quarter, more than double the year-earlier $0.10, after excluding a $2.6 million tradename impairment in Healthcare Apparel that reduced reported net income to $1.2 million, or $0.08 a share.
The company said the charge, equal to $2.0 million after tax or $0.13 a share, did not affect cash, operating cash flow or bank debt covenants. Adjusted net income was $3.2 million.
Net sales were $147.8 million, up from $144.0 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $7.7 million, with a 5.2% margin versus 4.2% in the year-ago quarter. Chief Executive Officer Michael Benstock said Branded Products performed especially well and that the company was navigating soft market conditions.
Branded Products, the largest of the three reportable segments, generated $98.4 million of net sales and $11.2 million of segment Adjusted EBITDA, compared with $92.6 million and $9.0 million a year earlier. Healthcare Apparel net sales were $27.2 million. Segment Adjusted EBITDA was a $0.2 million loss after the impairment, versus $0.8 million of profit a year earlier. Contact Centers net sales were $23.1 million and segment Adjusted EBITDA was $2.0 million.
The company continues to forecast full-year 2026 net sales of $572.0 million to $585.0 million, up from $566.2 million in 2025, and full-year adjusted earnings of $0.54 to $0.66 a share, up from $0.46 in 2025. Benstock said guidance continues to reflect stronger results in the back half of the year given seasonal factors.
The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.14 a share, payable August 28, 2026 to shareholders of record as of August 14, 2026.
