Cabot Names McLaughlin CEO as Keohane Plans Retirement

Erica McLaughlin will take the top job effective Oct. 1.

Cabot Corporation (CBT) announced a leadership transition that will elevate its finance chief to chief executive.

President and CEO Sean Keohane will retire and leave the board effective Sept. 30, 2026.

McLaughlin will become president and CEO and join Cabot’s board the following day.

She currently serves as chief financial officer and head of corporate strategy, giving the incoming CEO responsibility for both finance and strategic planning before the handoff.

Cabot began a search for a new chief financial officer as part of the transition.

The scheduled succession places McLaughlin in charge immediately after Keohane’s departure while leaving the finance post to be filled.
