Alliancebernstein Returns to Organic Growth as AUM Hits Record High
The asset manager reported total net inflows of $0.8 billion in the second quarter, reversing a trend of multi-billion dollar outflows.
AllianceBernstein Holding (AB), the global asset management firm, reported a return to organic growth for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The company recorded $0.8 billion in total net inflows, marking a reversal from net outflows of $7.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026 and $6.7 billion in the second quarter of 2025. This shift in momentum contributed to assets under management reaching a record $905.5 billion, an increase of 9.2% year-over-year and 8.0% sequentially.
Net revenues rose 7.5% year-over-year to $1.17 billion, although the figure decreased 2.6% from the $1.20 billion reported in the prior quarter. Adjusted net revenues grew 5.1% year-over-year to $887.5 million and rose 1.9% sequentially from $871.1 million.
Growth was driven largely by the Alternatives and Managed Account Solutions segment, which generated over $4 billion of net inflows. This represents the sixth consecutive quarter of organic growth for that asset class.
Channel performance was mixed. The retail channel saw net inflows of $0.9 billion, a shift from net outflows of $5.8 billion in the first quarter. The institutional channel also returned to organic growth with $0.6 billion in net inflows, compared to net outflows of $1.9 billion in the previous quarter. Conversely, the private wealth channel experienced net outflows of $0.7 billion, compared to net inflows of $0.6 billion in the first quarter.
Adjusted earnings per unit and cash distributions rose 7.9% year-over-year to $0.82, though they decreased slightly from $0.83 in the first quarter. The adjusted operating margin expanded 70 basis points year-over-year to 33.0%.
Institutional pipeline AUM decreased to $25.8 billion as of June 30, 2026, down from $27.5 billion at the end of the first quarter.
