Wynn Expands Cotai Resort With Hotel and Theater
The amended land concession gives Wynn up to 60 months to complete the development.
Wynn Resorts (WYNN), the casino-resort operator, expanded its Wynn Palace property in Cotai with plans for a five-star hotel, theater and event and entertainment center.
The project added a new development commitment in Macau under an amended land concession dated July 22, 2026. Wynn has up to 60 months from that date to complete the expansion.
The company incurred a one-time land premium of MOP652.3 million, or about $80.8 million, as part of the amended concession.
Wynn will pay the premium from available cash, placing the immediate cost on its existing liquidity rather than outlining separate financing.
The added land also increased recurring rent for the expanded resort. Total annual rent under the concession is MOP9.48 million, or about $1.17 million.
That rent remains subject to review by the Macau government every five years, leaving Wynn with both an upfront payment and a recurring obligation as it develops the new Cotai facilities.
